But Germans still developed and improved their Panzers, no ? I think this - i know Firefly - but - Firefly is still a Sherman. Tall, with bad armor protection and gas powered engine (nicknamed "Ronson" after famous lighter ). Panther and both Tigers can be knock out it by one shoot. Germans tankers used tactics One shoot - one kill. T-34 was better as all western allies tank... KV and Stalins have thick armor and 125mm canon... Superiority of german panzers over western tanks have very bad effect on moral by it's crews - a "Tiger Fever"... And often tactics against heavy armored and well armed german tanks in western front is many hound & tiger is dead - but with heavy loses on allies side... IS or KV can kill Panther on 1.5KM (1mile) through.... And IS-1 is low, fast, with heavy armor and gorgeous gun... IS-2m is only up-date on another suspension... And with only few pieces ammunition... T-34/76 is most potential tank as Sherman or Cromwell and T-35/85 haven't usually problem with Panther or Tiger (with ideal situation which he can shoot from hiding and used tactics hit and run...) I don't understand why not on western was created a "copy" of T-34 - christies suspension was american invent, not russian... British cruisers tanks used Christes suspension, but ballistic protection was low... Really, only M-26 Pershing is a great counterpart for IS/KV family and it's type of suspension is still used on all modern tanks... And in combat it is a ideal "beast hunter". Comet is still a ugly "box" and IS-3 and IS-4 are tanks from another époque... When was by M-26 deployed after D-Day many lives of US and GB tankers may be saved...

I'm still very fascinated what responsible persons in(western) allied highest command ignored need a really modern, well armed and armored tank. Grandfather of all modern (western) tanks - M-26 was deployed at battlefield in last war year :/ Sherman was tall, with non adequate cannon with low penetration and with poor balistic protection. And british cruiser and infantry tanks are fast but, it is a "armored box" with many rivets and poor canon. Americans and british tankers are "game animals" for german panzer aces in late Panzer IV and Panther or Tiger I and II and for "88" naturally too. In aircrafts are Germans and western allies in the same situation and reaction on new aircrafts are quickly (Bf 109F vs. Spitfire Mk. V, FW-190A vs. Spitfire Mk. IX, FW-190D vs. P-51D Mustang or Tempest..)But in tanks are situation tragically different practically in whole time of WW II. Russians have more powerful tanks against german Panzers... And T-34 was really a best tank in allied arsenal - low, fast with responsible cannon and good ballistic protection. But to western arsenal coming tank of this quality degree in early 1945 !!! After for many allied tankers tragic Battle of Bulge.... And this is too late.

I think - it's look as Spitfire MK. I/II. And price was - very probably - nice ! 25Euro i think. Yes, Tamiya's "nine" is best and more detailed, but is expensive. When revell don't make any fatal error it is a hot candidate for few pieces... And last kits (Bf 109G) are relative good, with few errors but i can live with it. (For it's price..)

This isn't re-box, this is new tool Viper ! I'm sure it is the best F-16 in this scale... And C coming soon - in 1/32 & 1/48 was released a "CJ" first.

Wow ! Excellent finish and unusual camouflage. Why have this specific machine this tear shaped blisters ? I never see it on another Bf 109... Have Romanian Machineguns with biggest magazines ?

Airfix N.T. Fabric Wing Hawker Hurricane Mk. I
AlCZ replied to AlCZ's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Maybe later...(When Eduard relased their "kabuki" mask). I'm can build in future another Hurricane from Airfix, this is from "my quick test build". Exist Hurricane in silver coat from after war period ? -
In L.E. Československé patnáctky (MiG-15 in Czechoslovakia) you have 1x parts for MiG-15Bis and 1x parts for MiG-15. Now was relased MiG-15bis in Profipack (With decals for North Korean MiG-15 (Most successful soviet pilot and ace of aces Yevgenyii Peplayev), ex-North Korean MiG in VVS colour, Cuban machine and East Germany "Fresco". And is too available "over trees" for MiG-15bis.

Oh, i don't know this is prototype.
-
Naturally, under cover are ribs, but when you look photos, you can see here a wearing - to metal... It's normal operating wear with big scratches. Fabric cover can be ruptured, but not worn down to metal...
-
On Bentley drawings is this panel smooth and this may be rivets... no ribs with fabric.
-
Look on this picture and panel around MG bay/hatch ! Is smooth ! And on kit are in these place ribs under the fabric...
-
Eduard made Dual combo FAA in both scales and relase too a 1/48 Weekend edition with british Hellcat. And in 1/72 F-6F-5N is british, with US radar equipped Night Fighter...
-
It's a one question - have fabric wing, metal plate around MG hatch or no ? On bentleys drawing i can't say it. http://www.albentley-drawings.com/drawings/hawker-hurricane-mk-i/hawker-hurricane-mk-i . Here look it as a metal plate, not fabric...IMHO. But maybe it is a only ilusion...

I have to apologize. I was warned a drawing are probably not in scale. In this case is my measurement complete irrelevant. I must found (or buy) 1/72 scale. But it looks a rumors what say - oh boy, this isn't a Hurricane - are - only rumors. With high probability as dihedral on upper part of wing. When i say my judgement - are this Hurricane a caricature ? Probably not ! They are a dihedral ? Probably not ! Looks it as Hurricane ? And i must say - yes ! This is my result... Thank you for your patience and help.

I build Spitfire Mk. I, Spitfire Mk. IX, Bf 109E,F-86, Mustang and last time Hurricane. And in shelf i have a 2x Gladiator, 2x Typhoon Ib and 5x P-51D Spitfire Mk. I - nice, but have a bit "die-cast" details. (Trenches) But offered a early type with 2blade prop and flat top cabine.(in Mk.I/II !!!! re-box) Spitfire Mk. IX-overall good in shapes, but cockpit don't exists. Bf 109E- nice, but have little mould problem (maybe in initial series) details on Left side not too sharp as right side. P-51D - best Mustang when you prefer price/quality. First series have too little problem with details (same as Messerschmitt). F-51 re-box is most attractive (with complete payload of HVAR and bombs...) and have 2 types of props... FW-190-nice, but wheels are not good (Lack of detail) Hurricane Mk. I - i think it is nice. F-86 - nice, as only Sabre on market have open MG hatches. Don't buy a MiG-15 - it is a total parody on this famous jet, HobbyBoss is better and Eduard is another level... Bf 109G-6 - parody with one big "beule" (MG Bulge) over cockpit... Hurricane Mk. IIc - trenches, trenches, trenches. Revell offer is better. Bf 110 - i think a Eduard Weekend edition are best offer (and have too G-2 and G-4 HeavyFighter/Night fighter version).

But i read - WHEN IS. I don't know... In this case, i can give this drawings print in another copy center in big format printer... But i must know what is downscaled...Mea culpa, sorry for them... I do not want to manipulate anyone...Another colleague made compare Hasegawa, Sword (AZ Model) and Airfix. (Thank you Honza). Fuselages and wings....Looks as difference between this three is real very small - or don't exist...
-
This is misunderstanding... I don't read any review in czech magazine, but a discussion in one thread in one of czech discussions forums for modelers... And here was Hurricane "condemned" as "parody"...With many lapses and errors... And i another thread is opinion this kit have wrong dihedral on upper wing section, and you must repair it... You don't know no ? Nab a girl, she's look gorgeous- as movie star - and in the morning you are unpleasantly surprised... And i can, when you can judge (from your own experiences and knowledges)where is true. It is a best small scale Hurricane in the market - or missed opportunity ? I'm not Hurricane expert, only enthusiastic fan of WW II R.A.F. . And i can bought a few of this new Hurricanes. Before i compare it with drawings i think - it is a really good model of early Hurri. But now - i can't say it is a really true. I can only built it and say my opinion. And when i don't compare it with drawings i say - it is a nice Hurricane. IMHO without dihedral... (Maybe this is a optical illusion, maybe not... i think it is good, with no dihedral...)

Tony Holmes, Hurricane Aces
-
OK, when is Mr. Bentley drawing linked above direct scan, 1:1, in A4, in 1/72 scale - in this case have Airfix problem.
-
OK, thank you. This is best reference drawings for early Hurricane, yes ?
-
I build it (really OOB - without color and puttying) I can say - it looks as Hurricane... I compared it with drawings in Tony Holmes "Hurricane Aces 1939-1940" (Osprey 1998) and on drawings is a bit longer (part before tail)but height of fuselage looks OK and when i may see on the details a 95% it's here... ) Fitting is relative good and it's here a pair of clever tools (you can't glue false exhausts or light, too assembely of main carriage is very comfortable... This is a "quinea pig", next Hurricane may be in color
