Huh, i now look a price (convert from GBT to CZK) and - it is a with few crowns a 3000 CZK. This is a incredible - and i hope a price is a mistake. 1/32 Phantom II from Tamiya cost 3299CZK (approx 115GBP). and Tomcat is near 2000CZK. I really don´t know a quarter scale Phantom from Tamiya goes on shelf of this totaly out price tag... it is still a quater scale and in this case you can have a 3x F-4 from Academy... And i don´t know a Tamiya offer was 3x better as Aca, especially Academy have often Cartograf and Tamiya their signature "fat decals". So it a great - 100GBP for kit, 20GBP for AM decals...Yup, yup. The price tak must be mistake - or Tamiya can test a loyality of customers ? I´m Tamiya fan a near 25 years, but 100GBP/3000CZK is CRAZY !

Oh no, another short nose - canon lose - Phantom... I long awaited a "E" from Academy, but what they released - "E" in 1/32. So only choice is still "XO" Hasegawa or expensive Zoukei-Mura... Tamiya is Tamiya, but i think a twice higher price as Academy is twice better kit (and i have short nosed Phantoms in gorgeous Good Morning, Da Nang from Eduard with lot of resin and big decal sheet...) I don´t understand a ignored of "E" version - widely used, still in active service, many attractive camos, with lot of kill markings, shark mouths etc... Israeli desert camo, Turkish "Megalodon" mouth, and many "meets and anni" camos from Japan and Germany... But Tamiya isn´t too cheap, 100GBP is...hmmm, very much for quarter scale Phantom... And "J" P-38 still not.... Strange choice... Yup, Phantom is very popular, but only missile armed "B" is real attractive as "E" ? I don´t sure with it :( And with Tamiya strange politic, i can´t awaited a "E".... when they don´t release "J" P-38, why they released a "E" in quarter scale :( ? Not funny :( Very sad.

Thank you very much Polish Friends for decals and box art of most sucessful Czechoslovakian fighter Ace - the famous Night Hawk Karel "Kut" Kuttelwascher and his legendary "Night Reaper" fighter ! I can´t look for AM decals :D :P ! Will be choice between full black or combined (green-gray on top and black on belly ? His aircraft is still a little mystery.... And in Mk. I (you probably planned it too, no ?) will be Czechoslovakian Pilots or you can co-op with Eduard ? I read a in 2021 may be a limited edition with your parts for CZ AF in RAF, but this is a small scale, quarter scale will be better :o) But Mk. IIC is gorgeous, i can´t look for old Hawa...

When you have a biggest scale kit, (1/48) a surface without rivets looks strange. When i compared a new Spitfire Mk. I with any kit of this type Eduard surface looks most detailed - and rivets are under surface and over surface. Yup, in small scale Emil are holes. But in 1/32 Tamiya WW II are holes too. And when you have a really big piece of aircraft - as WW II bombers are good in small scale. Yes, you must make it ideal an artistic patine of surface, but when you make it good, result is gorgeous and model looks more plastic. (For example - graphic in video game is simple a virtual space, surface, avatar and stuffs creation, but PC graphic and artist renders and coloured hyper - realistic.) Surface details on model kits a are details in real 3D model, not only virtual 3D render. And still looks surface with all details better as without. But i know a Czech Republic is the same case as South Korea in video games. (In Britain it is more "hobbyist" in Czech more "artistic and competition" style and this is a difference. (In new gaming consone and hi-tech PC HW is discussed now a HDR, raytracing etc.. and when you make a patine on surface a kit a you creation a picture on real surface.) Our brain and sight make an non exist surface details... And modeling style are hobbyist (old time scale modeling) and artistic (modern style of scale modeling). And kits with rivets are most suibtable for artistic style.

Where is problem with riveting ? Model without rivets looks extreme obsolete and toyish, and many companies offer a riveting whells. Rivets out of the box are simple +.

Where is problem ? It´s 80th. Anniversary of BoB and Messerschmitt Bf 109E is important part of this most famous air battle in history. And who make complete family of Bf 109E in small scale ? I don´t know. From renders kit looks good, have complete engine, guns...and SH prepare an export versions and "Toni" high attitude fighter. I´m curious to "Swiss defender" box, i can a Swiss Mess when i a many years ago read an book about fight between Nazi and Swiss Bf 109 and Bf 110. (Swiss Emil was slightly different). And do you know - it is a Messerschmitt. Messerschmitt is milking cow, Messerschmitt is best-seller... (And "Emil" have many nice camos - and not III. Reich only... Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, Switzerland, captured by French etc...) And when you have problems with SH offer, you can build Tamiya, ICM, Hasegawa, Airfix, old polish company (i don´t know a name in early ´90 have an E-1 in Spanish Civil War (Legion Condor) camos... or AZ... But i think a SH was slightly best "Emil"in small scale. I build many "Emils" in small scale - my first was Matchbox, next Hasegawa, too Academy "Emil Parody" and last Airfix. Nice kit - but Bf 109E-4... MG Wings model producers simple ignored (and it is a important version of initial stage of WW II and Legion Condor...) And Africa camo with yellow nose and badge with black beauty and lioness and Giraffe camo was for me very iconic ! BTW: In last time few companies announced a brand new "Emil" in quarter scale... So, what is problem ? Spitfire, Mustang, FW-190 and Bf 109 was a every time seller.

Yes, i reacted on Gabor. Huh... this is impressive ! So in this sight is any innacurate kit of MiG-15 a bitter irony ! When you have really thousands MiG's in deposit and probably unlimited funds, when you can' t develop an accurate kit of this important and iconic 2rd. Gen jet-fighter ? When Bronco have a accurate early stage and late (Bis)Fagot... so what he have strange curve on fuselage and totally inaccurate kit of early MiG 15 ? Yes, Eduard make better MiG-15 series, but in future. Sabre is in good quality (and now coming an Airfix offer) do why not a enemy - MiG-15 ? It is sad... i can many years 1/48 MiG-15 in my collection, but when all kits are off... So i can build a small scale from Eddie. But quarter scale is most attractive for me...

So.... i wait few years on to Eduard MiG-15. Czech are "MiG" positive and heavy "MiG Fanatics". MiG-21 in both scale was best "21" on market, small scale MiG-15 is too accurate with accurate shapes and differences between early MiG-15 and MiG-15Bis... In Czech Republic is based an flyable warbird too (MiG-15UTi) and Czechoslovakian MiG-15 SB ( Stíhací bombardér - Fighter/Bomber) was used in early ´80 as light attacker ! So, when you can accurate MiG-15 in all versions and sub-versions in quarter scale wait for Eduard.... I think a MiG-15 in quarter scale is cursed.... But it is a ironic - in PLR must have thousands real MiG-15 in museum...and their not replicated it into accurate kit without flaws ? So... i wait for "Ed"... And maybe bought (i can´t price tag) an MiG-15Bis from Bronco... (It looks accurate as early MiG-15).

1/72 - Zlín/LET Z-37A Čmelák by Eduard - released
AlCZ replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Čmelák have in Czech Republic a cult status. Every boy know it and is a movie star in popular movies from ´70 & ´80, is widely used everywhere in former Czechoslovakia.,, But it is a simple, colourful and peaceble small aircraft too. No bombs, no guns, no death.... And Servus, Hoši (Hi, Guys) is L.E. with two bumbles in one pack... I like Spitfire, but i have L.E. from last month, so "Čmelda" (Little Bumblebee) is logical choice... And yes, i´m too awaited a 1/32 version for Infinity (HpH) and 1/48 from MACO. Bumblebee is this strange season bestseller ! I think in us (former Czechoslovakia) probably, but when western modellers don´t ignore it, it is a happy. (And you, Čmelda is simple cuttie (Kawai ?) - small and yellow !!! And i think a many Wife or Girlfriend say.... "Oh Dear, what it is - a nice little yellow aircraft ? You don´t build another fighter/bomber today ?" -
Italeri 2020 catalog - "new" (reissue, repop, rebox etc.) in 2020
AlCZ replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Italeri go down water... Why released old tool kits ? Next years coming new quarter scale "Kurfürst" kit from "Ed" and probably Tamiya Lightning.... And Academy P-38 is more accurate as old Dragon tool :( Bf 109K from Hobbycraft is too ancient.... In history made Italeri many great kits of helicopter and now still go on the way of re-released and re-boxes :( -
1/144 - Tupolev Tu-95 "Bear" by Zvezda (plastic Revell) - released

This is Spitfire Mk. I "late". In "the Few" you have fuselage & wing and small parts for "early" (without armor) configuration, here not.

I wonder if Zvezda released a full range of Il-2 - straight wing, swept wing, full metal, wood/metal... Twin seater w. straight wing released a Eduard only a many years back as L.E. (from Accurate miniatures plastic), Accurate isn´t bad, but have few errors (naturally - look as Sturmovik), Tamiya is very nice, but when i remember, it is a final production batch aircraft and is very expensive... Zvezda have goog pricing, so i hope in many variants - a NS 37 (BFG under wings :)))), torpedo etc... it is a same case as T-34 in AFV... And have engine and open bomb bays in wing ! (i don´t understand, why Accurate and Tamiya ignored this detail...i mean bomb bay, not engine).

Yup, this is nice, very colourful, but this is a "anniversary" scheme a same case as Tiger meet. But IMHO for many modellers are most attractive in combat used aircraft, before "(air)show aircraft". Or some times a squadron - for me it is a Jolly Rogers (for example). And naturally - Japanese F-4EJ never used in combat, so for me is more attractive a combat machine, with kills. And i know a japanese company, must make a "japanese" box, but why in two different boxes ? So, one with japanese and one with non-japanese camos were more logical. Sometimes is relax when you can build a kit straight from the box, without you must invest to new decals... But this is a my personal sight only !
-
Sniff, i can WnW super tool Lanc I hope in quarter scale Lanc from HK, but still nothing
-
In 33Ł was a little expensive... Academy have very similar config (gun bays, and have an engine and trolley), Hasegawa have crispies details and in last Eduard L.E. nice decals, P.E. and resin. I know, this is a another version, but price tag around 25Ł was better... So, i see. Sabre is one of my beloved aircraft...
-
I desperately need a new tool 1/32 aircraft from Tamiya. When WnW was dead, Tamiya is last high class company in big scale bussines... In quarter scale makes in last years many types, but in 1/32 - nothing new (Korean War Pony i don´t count, this is a few new parts... not new tool kit.) P-38 will be best...
-
The kit looks very good on first sight... But - it is a inatractive japanese, never in combat used version. I know a domestic market, but why in two boxes ? Vietnam Aces or Israeli Phantoms were most attractive subject... But Japanese EJ ? Phantom is an US origin, because he NEED a US version & decals in box... Or Turkish big shark mouth Phantom´s looks too damm good ! (But Phantom II is "cursed" type - he have many plastic incarnation, but very often with non-combat AF... (Revell F-4F, now FM F-4EJ etc...). Vietnam War and Mid East wars markings and version are still ignored (not only IAF, but too IRIAF etc...) "E" Phantom II is one of most colourful fighter jet in history... And more attractive decals isn´t problem not ? So, why FM make a Japanese only, and not one Japanese and one International with markings for USA, Israel, Iran, Turkey, South Korea for example :( ? I don´t know a japanese marking is attractive for world...
-
Hmm, twin engined aircraft used in Pacific.... I´m sceptic now for new 1/32 from Big T, but it is nice, when release new tool big scale aircraft kit.
