  1. Missed my delivery, its arriving at the DPD drop off for Monday now I will have to wait. I am looking forward to it arriving. Is what it is, if it needs a tweak so be it. Looks like a P40 smells like a P 40 Lets build a P-40 Monday.........................
  2. Im going to shelve my current build and crack on with this..... watch this space
  3. It will sell, be at the right price point and enable profit rather than turnover. Some will wring their hands and moan about accuracy for this and that. End of the day it will make money and hopefully enable them to meet the needs of those who prefer the less popular stuff (Me for one) Give me a 1/48 Fairey Battle or HP Hampden any day over the Mustang. However will I buy it, will I put it in the stash for a while then will I build it? Most definitely
  4. Airfix really have upped their game in the past few years, it is indeed time to replace their older kits like the ME262. I am pleased to see them attempting this aircraft again Mo money mo money!
  5. Have to say with the amount of us saying, Please give us the following in 1/72 and 1/48. Also all are available in museums/war bird collections. Battle, Hampden. Beaufort Halifax Sea Fury 1/24 Defiant Sea Fury REALLY need to take the hint Airfix.
  6. Troy you need to trawl back, I am saying that after the success of the 1/72 and 1/48 Defiant a 1/24 one would and probably could generate good sales. I unique aircraft that stands out well for a myriad of reasons from the early war period. I agree on the scaling down of the Tiffy that would be a real winner for them. The Hasegawa one is expensive, I bought the Italeri one a couple of years ago. I believe it is the same kit and was cheaper on the evil bay at the time. Agree on the Hurricane, I have the IID Trop one in the to do pile. It is a lovely kit, Miles ahead of my old Airfix one hanging in the loft
  7. Shoot me for saying this but way better than the projected Walrus. Many 1/24 dont get built but I am sure that the Defiant would. A flawed but iconic aircraft.
  8. I was just pondering on a rainy Saturday morning last weekend whilst working on my Zero, how good would a 1/24 Defiant be?
  9. Saw this yesterday on the HK facebook page, pre ordered and in my basket at Hannants for the past two months
  10. Airfix would be better off just not doing lead times and say, its released in the 3rd Quarter of the year or 4th Quarter. Would avoid disappointment. If I worked to their deadlines in education I would have been sacked years ago.
  11. Jerry I had to polish mine and then dipped them in Klear
  12. Agreed John, 1/32 even taking into account their sometimes off the plot interpretations would have been a bit of a winner. Unless Airfix release it in 1/24?
  13. I cannot see it being a patch on the Airfix one, that is currently over my desk in the man cave
  14. Why bother Mr Trumpy? Airfix knocked it out of the park. #beentheredonethat
  15. Love the Horten, got both the 1/48 and 1/32 by SWS in the stash and a half built 1/48 Dragon kit on the to do shelf.
  16. Oh my https://www.facebook.com/hkmmodels/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED Not long now.
  17. She would have been painted deck green in the 60's Epigrip grey was introduced late 709's early 80's When I was on Glamorgan all our upper deck that was not wood was painted Dark Grey. The only bit still green in 84 was a well deck behind the fwd funnel, until yours truly spent a day as a sprog painting it dark grey. This bit had been missed even after the Falklands re fit when the repairs were carried out and the Bofors and extra Oerlikons were fitted WEM used to do the shade of green you need also have a trawl in the WIP's in ships for Chewitts HMS Hero ./ Gun Leander thread.
  18. Having a break from the paint and filler fumes on my Zero for a moment, Thought of the day Airfix have done stonking jobs on the 1/72 and 1/48 Defiant. i guess it has sold well. Same for the 1/72 Hawker Typhoon and 1/24 Tiffy Sooooo here is my next proposal 1/48 Typhoon,it is about time we had a decent one apart from Hasegawa. Also in two versions car door and bubble top. 1/24 Super kit of the Defiant. 1/24 Super kit of the P-40 (Been done, got one in the stash just not done very well) I wonder if these three would sell. In the interim yet again Beaufort 1/72, Halifax 1/72 Battle 1/72 and 1/48 Blenheim please Mr A Thoughts gentlemen?
  19. Picture above I agree more than likely the1/48 Stuka wheel. Battle of France its a maybe purchase for me when it comes out.
  20. Also please give us a decent Fairey Battle in 1/72 and hopefully with the wind behind it in 1/48. Then the same with the Hampden. Early war British single and twins would be then well served. I live in hope, wallet open
  21. Ever thought we are all getting a bit picky? Fit accuracy etc seems to be an obsession. I think the challenge for me is to make it fit, hand on heart building a kit and not having to make changes, add detail etc does not set me a challenge. Anyway enough pondering Mr Arifix please read this and give us a half decent Beaufort in 1/72 then 1/48 a year later. Topped off with a 1/48 Blenheim that much like its little brother will be hand wringing, sack cloth and ashes "Unbuildable" My Blenheim was ok, bit of wiggle and filler now it sits on the shelf next to the Beaufighter in all its glass nosed lovelyness
  22. I have had a yes for the B-17 E/F. If you want one its for Christmas, order it now and it can go on back order until it comes in. Flowers for Mrs B
