  1. Nearly there now; Base needs edging and a plinth ordering to take it, along with a SAS Badge and a Gallantry Medal. Last post for a while as off on Holiday for a week on Saturday, down to gorgeous Carbis Bay.
  2. Got the poster made up today, will get it printed on some photo paper, also got his Blackeard patch added to his rucksack ; Still got to touch his arm joint in
  3. After some debate on a couple of SAS facebook pages, it seems i had totally the wrong colour for his footwear, so following ref images they have been redone as a pair of La Sportiva, and thats how they are staying
  4. Havent had chance to get any painting done recently, but have now finished off his trainers, custom colours mixed to try and match the photos;
  5. You will need to either shave off some of the bottom of the actual seats or sand back the bottom of the figures for them to fit in the cockpit with the canopy attached.
  6. Camouflage painted onto the front vest and ballistic plate, side straps also painted, so will be able to glue the arms in place , once i get the pens for the waffle stripes on the rifle, oh and painted in the time on his Garmin watch. SHirt has had subtle shadows added;
  7. Needed to start on the Camouflage, so tried it out on the rucksack / backpack first, happy with the results, shadows added by inks and highlighted with pigments.
  8. Suits you sir !, one pair of Armani jeans (logo custom created) [/url
  9. All the main colours blocked in, redone the balaclava , was to grey and not as brown as it should be. Sometimes the web can be a curse for reference images. different cameras give off slightly different hues, colours. Matching the rifle has been a nightmare and still not totally convinced on the colour, however it may come out okay once weathered a bit and had a matt varnish on it.
  10. Highlights, shadows and glazes added, matt varnish applied; Not much flesh to play with to get all the normal tones added.
  11. Got all the flesh areas, face and hands, blocked in with base tone. Painted in the eyes, need a bit of work on the right eye, but please overall with the outcome. next to bring life to the face.
  12. Finished this excellent bust from Mitches Military Models. 1/10th Bust of CMDR Nigel "Sharkey" Ward - Mr. Sea Harrier, a SBS can be seen here - https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/1-9th-nigel-sharky-ward-falklands-war-1982.307079/ . All painted with ScaleColour Artist acrylics. The Mask Clip has been made from fuse wire and milliput. Ear cord from Lead wire and retaining straps from twisted fuse wire. Base from Petes Bases and Name Plate from Nameit
  13. Right Boot has been reattached into a better position - Main Bits tacked on; when i took the photo I spotted this minor seam line on his hand, nothing to worry about;
  14. There is an english version of it; https://www.bookworldws.co.uk/product/flesh-skin/ And this one is also very good, but a printed version of the same tutorial available on line; https://www.bookworldws.co.uk/product/scale-model-handbook-miniature-modelling-techniques-painting-guide-1/
  15. Boots attached and pegged to a block of wood for painting, not sure about the position of his right foot though, may need to break it off somehow and re attach ( at the end); Head is just dry fitted, after removing the pour stub under neath his head.
  16. Now thats an idea. See if i can get another kit, or move this one up to the corner and have it shooting over from there
  17. Started on this at the weekend, funnily enough a new mini drill kit i had ordered from amazon also arrived so put it into use, it does create rather a lot of resin dust, so a mask is required when cuting and sanding bit, however it's pretty amazing at doing what it does and for such a great price and its cordless (£22.99) you can get one from here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08B61KR15/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have already done a review of the kit over here - https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/mmm-200mm-scale-sas-nairobi-dusitd2-terrorist-attack.312055/ Upper and lower torso joined and gap filled with some milliput. Sanded smooth. small resin gates ahve now also been removed;
  18. Thanks, No I agree with you, looked okay in my head, but actually now I don't like it.
  19. Over the last month, i have been working away on this excellent bust from Mitches Military Models of Commander 801 Naval Air Squadron Nigel 'Sharkey' Ward, Falklands war 1982; Expertly sculpted by 'Offo' .Its a 1/9th scale resin item and comes in 5 pieces; Together and primed; The bust is very nice and just begs to be painted, the only additions i added were the comms cord from the face mask to the left side ear jack and the most complicated bit the face mask clip. This was made from fuse wire and milliput. the retaing bungie cords were also made from twisted fuse wire; I had the notion of putting a Harrier on the front of the plinth, so found this old 1/144 Revell kit on ebay; And cut the fusuleage just behind the wings; Bust completed, just waiting for the plinth and a DFC AFC medal to arrive;
