  1. Wheels installed, -finally! Some "dry dirt" added to lower sides of the hull and fenders, and "dust" goes to the wheels... Now I'm very close to finish, - some final touches left...
  2. Tried to get less contrast with oil filters:
  3. Paintwork in process, - decals on, chipping, washing, "dusty" filter: Then followed by streaking effect: Streaking seems a little overdone. Will try to tone it down with filters later on.
  4. Nice progress, Rob. If I remember properly, RB offers in this set nine complete rounds:3 AP, 3 APC and 3 HE. Paint scheme as follows: - AP round (shortest one) - black; - APC round (longest one, should be more pointed than HE) - black (earlier model) or olive drab; - HE round - olive drab with bare steel head fuse. Shell cases brass of course.
  5. Thanks everyone for comments. I'm using 3M Scotch adhesive pads, but I'm getting disappointed a little bit with them, - while working fine on Mr.Color paints, on Humbrol enamels it leaves whitish marks. And those marks became more visible after varnish coat. So I will look to try other similair products (like Blu Tack) in my folowing projects.
  6. Nice subject! Did you noticed wrong-shaped roadwheels?
  7. I'm using Humbrol mixes based on article at MAFVA site, - this one .
  8. Now is painting time! Base - Khaki Brown SCC.2 Then masking and second camo color - Light Stone:
  9. Thanks for your replies. Drilled out hinges on turret hatches, put copper wire in, - now hatches are operable Installed periscopes, small details to the turret Wheels assembled. Though they are incorrect for prototype chosen, they still looks pretty good. To keep front wheels rotating significant sanding and trimming needed for inner washer part, otherwise it will stuck dead between wheel halfs
  10. Oh! Finally I'm back to britmodeller! Constant travelling in a last two years throw me off modelling completely, - I apologize for a such long break... So, - let's continue! Scratch built recoil guard, shoulder rest and breech details added Breech end assembled Radio set assembled and installed More details added to the turret interior Left wall installed, Tommy-gun added Turret assembled, hiding all my work done inside... At least all we know that details are there
  11. This small classic pre-war fighter model was partially assembled a long time ago, patiently waiting to be finished in my "forgotten affairs locker". So finally it is completed. Model was built almost out of the box, - I only have added motor valves pushing rods (almost invisible), drilled out manifold inlets (barely visible) and made suporting rods for wheels fenders. As painting scheme was choosed 1st Sentai commander Toshio Kato craft during Khalkhin-Gol (Nomonhan) incident, with its funny fat non-standard wheels to fight muddy condition of Khalkhin-Gol area frontline airfields. I've decided not to use ICM decals because of strange wine-red color of Hinomaru insignia on it. So all insignia, stripes and markings were done with masking tape and self-made stencils.
  12. MrBurns, viscosity is correct I'm shure! As this is famous british 6-cylinder in-line AEC diesel engine! It will work with any viscosity oil, and even without oil at all!
  13. Further progress... Build is not going so fast as I've planned, but that's life... Front fenders: Radiator and rear hull plates in place: Engine compartment covers are made movable: Continued with turret interior:
  14. Thanks for your good replies, mates! Let's continue with engine compartment... Alternators assembled and painted, cables added: Alternators fixed in place: Fuel and oil tanks installed: Engine assembled and painted. Fuel pipes made from stretched sprue and copper wires: Engine installed, some weathering made in engine compartment: Next step to finish engine compartment - to install radiator and coolant system pipes, - to be followed shortly.
  15. After two weeks break due to the business trip, AEC assembly continues... Driver's hatch springs installed with some modifications, to keep hatch movable: Upper hull part fixed in place: ...then side boxes: ...rear fenders: ...rear axle, driveshafts, actuating rods and levers for rear brakes: Steering mechanism rods and levers are made movable to allow movement of complete mechanism: Front axle "under construction": ...and assembled: Front axle secured in place, steering in action:
