I'm going through my pic collection at the moment, but there's a No 41 Sqn Spitfire which was discussed on here which is crying out to be done: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/35156-spitfire-mk-i-scheme/ Cheers, Mark.

Hang on, dear chap! It's a bit early in the day. Give us some time! :-)

Hmm, I'm a bit disappointed by the Spitfire sheet. Precious little that hasn't been done before. The Hurricane sheet is a little better, but only including enough bright upper and lower wing roundels to complete one of the options (out of three) when you can't get them elsewhere, is a bit off, IMHO. Considering the possibilities, I really do think it's quite unimaginative.

Two sets of wings too, folded and unfolded. That's very welcome.

If it was about half the projected price, I'd probably buy one. As it is, way too expensive! -
Anyone else notice the two sets (folded and unfolded) of wings on the Wildcat, amongst those photos?

Here are a few of the major parts next to some old Scale Models plans i found knocking around. I will separate the parts from the sprues when I'm less likely to cause any damage to them and take some better pics, if anyone's interested. Notice that I used the Gypsy Moth drawing, when I should have used the Cirrus drawing. I didn't at the time...... From a cursory glance, it looks pretty close. The wings may be a tad longer. I'll get the verniers out tomorrow and measure them. I think there may be a millimetre in it. Hope this helps, Mark.

I managed to take a few pics of the DH 60C tonight. They're not great, as I'm dog-tired at the moment!

I have five of the seven (just need the Genet Moth and DH60T to complete the set) and they look pretty nice on the sprues. I was pleasantly surprised by the moulding quality. There are plenty of part options. Some even have two sets of wings, so the spares box will benefit greatly. I haven't had the opportunity to check for accuracy, as I don't have any plans, neither have I started one yet. However, I doubt the is anything better in this scale. I'm more than happy to dig the kits about and photograph the contents if you like. Best regards, Mark.

A beautiful model of one of my favourite aeroplanes. Excellent work!

Excellent! As I said, glad to have been proved wrong, as it provides yet another option.

Apparently the DC-4/C-54 will be £49.99 (according to Hannants), so who knows? The dimensions aren't that different. -
1/72 Spitfire Prototype kit/conversion

Paragon did one, though I suspect it would be both hard to get hold of and rather expensive if you did! -
Er, that 255 Sqn Defiant in the Day Fighter scheme. Really? I thought only Nos. 2, 141 and 264 wore it. I'm quite happy to be proved wrong though!

1/72 - Junkers Ju-87B-1/B-2 & R-2 Stuka by Airfix - released

The Fujimi kit doesn't contain the narrow prop blades of the B-1, iirc. At least I'm pretty sure mine didn't. -
I would also guess that volume of sales has much to do with it. With the best will in the world, the Shackleton isn't going to sell anywhere near as well as the Lancaster! Therefore the unit cost has to be higher. The Whitley is more expensive than the He 111, possibly for the same reason. I suppose it's the price we have to pay for those esoteric subjects from mainstream manufacturers. Not a complaint, by the way!

^ not beyond the realms of possibility, given the Ki-46 at the RAF Museum. Maybe a Ki-100 at a later date? -
I've always had a soft spot for the Wildcat, so I'm quite pleased about this.

The first B-1 in this scale, if I remember correctly. Essential for any BoB enthusiast. -
Next year is starting to look like a particularly expensive one for me! The Whitley came as a total surprise. Very excited about that!
-
How about a Wildcat and B5N2?
-
The transparencies on mine are fine. There's a faint flow line which can only be seen with a 3x magnifying glass: invisible with the naked eye. The level of detail is quite something!
-
Ah they dont make them like that anymore.........thank god!

I'm using a 1958 deVilbiss which I was given about twenty five years ago. It's still working well, chuntering away! I'll be gutted when it dies.
