  1. Here you go: Windsock Datafile No. 33 Junkers D.I Windsock Datafile No. 131 Junkers Monoplanes at War. Both highly recommended. There is also a Polish title on the Junkers D.I (J.9), by Seweryn M Fleischer, published by Karaya, ISBN 978-83-931751-0-9. Also highly recommended. It will be interesting to see how Wingnut Wings interpret the colour schemes for this airframe as there is some debate as to weather they had a two or three colour scheme. Christian, exiled to africa and looking forward to his D.I
  2. Ahhhh, Old Warden Me too. Whenever back in Blighty I spend at least a few hours there. The smell of burnt castor oil sets me up for the next X months in exile. And another; Fairport Conventions Cropredy Convention, billed as England's friendliest folk festival. Have been going since 1986 and have missed just one year, (some oik by the name of Saddam Hussein got in the way....). Anybody else here go? Cropredy, for me, is a real battery recharger. 3. and at the ready! +1 for the Ta 152H as well. Christian, exiled to africa
  4. Great! Not what I was expecting, but GREAT! Next big question; OK Duncan, when are you accepting pre-orders? What will be next.......? Christian, exiled to africa

  6. Oh cobblers! Sorry to hear that Crisp. Heal well and fast! Christian, exiled to africa
  7. Nah, just the raw sewage, hospital waste and occasional corpse... From where I type this missive, the Indian Ocean is over there, (waving hand in a general manner), just under the mile away and about as close as I want to get. Better stop now before I get redirected to the grumble page... And to halt any tectonic movement away from this thread; Cadbury's chocolate and Yorkshire Tea! Christian, exiled to africa
  8. A decent pint of Beer in a pub, with character, followed by another. (Back in the UK...). Watching the avian life here, (132 different species spotted in 11 months!). Plus any other non-Homo sapiens sapiens forms. My bench and man-cave Wagner's Ring Cycle. Britmodeller. Walking, especially mountains, highlands and moorlands. Christian, exiled to africa
  9. Hi Franz, Babies will do that and congratulations on said son! So what will be his first model??? A very interesting build of a rather tasty subject, so if you do not mind I will follow along. I too have one of these in the stash so I will be taking copious notes! This might be a bit late now, (sorry!), but how about doing the circular inspection panel as a disk of 5 thou plastic card, gluing it on and giving it a gentle rub down afterwards. I do most of my inspection panels this way after noticing that most inspection panels start looking a it battered after being removed and replaced a few times. Christian, exiled to africa
  10. Hi John, IIRC, the wreck has been let in situ with the navigable routes moved away and around its resting place. It is unlikely to be excavated and raised in the near future as the, by necessity, rather large amount of funding is unavailable. No doubt the Port Authority would prefer the removal of the wreck, as the location and protection gained by the application of protected status have and are causing them some headaches. Let me have a chat with a friend or two at Wessex Archaeology to see if there has been any further development. Christian, exiled to africa
  11. Oooh count me in for a P-36/H-75! Possibly a P-40 as well and all may be finished in Latin American markings. Christian, excited whilst in exile in africa

  17. So true, so true. But a little unfair to a new and developing technology that is remotely detecting structures over 4, 000 years old, though descriptively accurate Christian, previous owner of an Andy Pack DH 10.....
  18. Sweet little build. This is one of the very few Matchbox's that I never built. Must remedy that . Definitely go with a (mucky) white Or, tho, I've heard, pink or yellow could be useful as undercoats and nothing too mucky there to boot! Christian, exiled to africa
