  1. Apart from adding the roof and two side panels, the cabin is now finished. Took me just under two weeks to get to this point, it's now half term so I shall be spending most of the following week working at the cutting mat Also, thank you to Colin for the advice, I have filed the corners down a bit.
  2. Thank you everybody for your comments! Oops... yep, I got that wrong . And yes, it was glued in, but after about ten minutes of careful work with the knife and I managed to get it off in one intact piece, and it's now stuck on in the correct position. Stupid mistake to make in the first place, but heyho, it's worked out fine. And here it is, in the correct position, and as you can see the paintwork needs a bit of patching up.
  3. Hello all. I've made a fair few models in the past few years, but I have never done a build article, so this is my first one. I'm working on the Airfix 1:48 Navy Lynx and am doing version B; no. 815 squadron. At first inspection the kit seems fantastic; crisp tooling, all looks very well detailed. I started this over a week ago, and I only set up my Britmodeller account the other day, so my photos aren't from the very start of the build. Hope you all enjoy! The main cockpit/cabin piece has been painted and the control panel decals applied. The seats and other various detail have been completed and put in place, as has the dashboard. When the supplied decal used to represent dials on the dashboard is compared to the real thing, it is considerably accurate, so great credit to Airfix. However, the instructions said nothing about painting the upper left screen, so using this photo as reference I painted it clear green over black, and the surrounding buttons white. And here it is! It wasn't until I saw the photo on here that I realised there are a couple of bristles stuck to it from when I applied Decalfix I have got rid of it them though. I shall try to keep this article up to date over the next couple of months or so. Also, I resized my photos to 800x600 as required but if that's still too big for some then please let me know and I will post them smaller in the future.
