  1. Hi folks, hope there,s room for one more since joining U S navy build ought to fly the flag for the royal navy, nothing in my small stash but hoping to track down a grumman hellcat in 1/48.
  2. Slight change of plan can,t find major sprue or decals for bullfrog so tamiya 1/48 corsair which i,ve had for years will be built.
  3. Hi folks, I have signed up for my first group build(u s navy),can someone give me a quick guide on how and where to post my progress during the build, sorry if I have missed this info elsewhere on the site. Thanks Steve.
  4. Strange where kits turn up in none model shops, those of us in the north will probably know Boyes stores,my local store stocks Humbrol Vallajio, squadron etc and now Revell ,Airfix Hobbyboss and a few others,I was in Aldi and Asda recently and the Works all selling a few Airfix kits at less than RRP,no doubt approaches have probably been made but supermarket retailers would be good for airfix remember Woolworths used to shift huge stocks of AirfixI know this won,t satisfy the serious modellers but there would be a lot of kids pestering parents!
  5. Thanks guys nearly done now bits are not falling off now, apart from random spots of paint! but they can be touched up,decals very good indeed will post completed kit by the weekend.
  6. Folks would love to join in this GB as my first,I have had academy,s 1/48 bullfrog sitting on top of my wardrobe for five years! intending to do the orange/grey rescue machine, now I have an excuse.
  7. Great shame if they go I am lucky to have 2 within 10 miles of me but some of their sale items must have been a giveaway, last year we lost model active in Durham Beatties went in Newcastle a few years ago thankfully we have models4hobbies a few miles away and they are an online retailer as well as shop, but I had the situation recently where I ordered a kit from Wonderland Models with £5 off even after standard postage and it arrived the next morning!no drive to town petrol use or car parking but you can.t beat a visit to a shop.
  8. Great job! This is another great, simple inexpensive kit from Airfix.
  9. I should have followed your lead Dennis! the bottom wing has fallen off while decalling tonight, and for some strange reason the humbrol clear I used seems to be "eating" its way through the paint down to the plastic or vice versa although I thoroughly washed the kit prior to assembly.
  10. Very nice little vampire! your right about these new tool airfix kits this one,s a gem.
  11. Got on quite a bit with this over the last week messed about with my very basic airbrush to try and get a decent mottle effect, not great but more convincing than my usual brushing,it,s dislike of glue continued with the port wing join parting twice and the u/c leg coming loose, next step glossing.
  12. Lovely little Spitfire, having only the basic revell airbrush I tend to spray the lighter colour and brush the darker,I love that paint range it brushes on well.
  13. Lovely build, not the best of kits new tool long overdue.
