Interesting subject choice Steve and hopefully a decent kit of the type.
Looks great on the sprue Col and just the right scale for the subject.

It looks great!
Many thank's decal's are superb and considering they were not intended for this kit needed no adjusting round the nose.I will in future seek out another for those other options too.

Hi folk's,with the Fury done and the Mosquito only a few jobs away from completion time to restart the Hornet so after a touch of filler here and there I primed in white then
masked the wheel well's.
I then criss crossed fine lines of black with the airbrush before a few coats of thinned light Gray.
After the darker gray upper surface was sprayed I oversprayed in lighter gray then oversprayed one light coat of a third shade to blend it all in.

Hi Steve,
I did one of their F4F-4 versions a while back and it went together well - the only problem I recall was that the decs stuck too well and don't like being manoeuvred into position without tearing so use plenty of water/Microsol etc. I guess yours is the later General Motors produced FM-2? The Atlantic finish will make a nice change.
Pete
Hi Pete yes I've built the other two boxing's but not this version with the taller tail.I find the wing to fuselage join can be troublesome at the under fuselage to tailwheel join
if it looks poor I can swing over to the Sea Blue scheme which will hide it better.

Hi folk's finally with the release of Carracal's superb decal sheet's to build this oldie which has sat a good few years due to it's original decals being unusable.
The Carracal decal's are superb with not only Sea Blue and Gray/White schemes but a couple of special schemes too they behaved beautifully too.Thank's for
looking in.

Great stuff and it's a lovely kit - I won't hijack your thread with the two I've built.
One mod I did do was to shorten the main gear by a few mm; otherwise, it has a 'nose up' attitude when built out-of-box.
Look forward to seeing these!
All the best,
DermotThanks Dermo.Pop a couple of photos on never seen these built.

Really enjoyed the Hobbyboss easy kit builds in this and the FW 190 GB so if all goes well with the two left to do here and there being plenty of time left I have a Hellcat,Wildcat
and Zero winging their way here all eligible for the GB we'll see.

Best laid plans Martin, once again that awful join just looked terrible under the white primer so cutting my lossed after a second lot of filler and sanding I went for the Sea Blue
scheme which is OK as I've never modelled a Wildcat in this later scheme and it fits nicely with the finished Corsair and upcoming Hellcat.Anyway she was brushed in Sea Blue
and later some breaking up of the solid colour with medium blue both Tamiya colours.
A coat of Humbrol gloss brushed and an hour later yet more hairy moments with HB's decals, the 6's both cracked up so spares were sought.HB would have you leave of
the fuselage stars and even had me checking photo's of this unit's aircraft but they were painted on the real thing as was the small 6 on the cowling which are not supplied
so again came from spares.
