  1. Morning folk's,among the throng of Mustangs on the bench this builds been neglected so time to put that right,I must admit the U/C assembly I was dreading but without a lot of expected issues it's moved on I think once the engines are fitted I'll be happier as the painting can begin.finally got the gun panel fitted which has gaps needing filler but the step has gone so all should be well.
  2. Many thanks Toryu, moved the build on during the day brush painted two coats each of the respective colours.
  3. Been a pleasure catching up John, excellent work.
  4. Morning Folk's,Check out the superb Mustang GB over in Group build better still Join in,these are the first two of four easy kit builds I'm on with for said GB. As someone who really only enjoys the painting these are Ideal kits,Cheap, reasonable accurate and a quick build.First up is Glenn T Eagleston's "Feeble Eagle" 354 FG in 1944,Eagleston ended the war with 181 1/2 victories and later flew in Korea destroying two Mig15's.He retired from the USAF in 1967 and passed away in 1991.Both Kit's brush painted with Vallejo acrylics. And now "Shady Lady" flown by John A Miller 357th FG in 1944.I can't find any info on this Pilot.Same M.O as the last one brush painted with Vallejo acrylics. Many thanks for taking the time to look.
  5. Hi again folk's.Second of four 1/48 HB easy kits is P-51D "Shady Lady".
  6. Hi all,first of four HB 1/48 easykits,P51D "Feeble Eagle" 354th FG 1944.
  7. Morning all, pushing on with this lovely kit,all the internals fitted and after no issues the lower wings part of the u/c fitted and a couple of coats of brushed primer/surfacer.brushed on the first coat of aluminium give it a couple of hours for the next on
  8. I've two more sheets Mark but I suspect the same issue will turn up.
  9. Hi folk's,self destructing decals has forced a change of scheme to Missouri Armada.
  10. Evening folk's,weekend off, weather terrible so plenty of modelling time.Tamiya decals were awful especially the silver surrounds for the stars the wing one was way out of shape so left it off but trimmed the fuselage one's and got a reasonable fit.
  11. Hi folk's,picked up for just eight quid this came in a battered box but sealed contents in gleaming white plastic and crap decals which is fine I'll pick some up when I get a chance,it's looking iffy for the big 1/32 Mustang I planned probably best left for another GB as a single build so this will replace it as my final build for this GB.This kit looks like a direct copy of Tamiya's kit and really is beautifully moulded I have decals for Dooleybird which would be nice but I built this machine a few years ago using Tamiya's kit we'll see what turns up decal wise.
  12. Hi Folk's.Brushed on the underside and fuselage aluminium then brushed on the blue uppers and black stripes, sprayed the yellow forward fuselage so now out of Tamiya tape!
  13. Evening folk's,undersides were brush painted silver then a sprayed top coat of OD and brushed on a darker green(RAF) to represent the painted out upper ID bands.
  14. Hi folk's a little later than expected I couldn't live with the canopy paint job so pushed myself to finish it tonight Gallery photo's soon.
  15. Hi folk's,calling her done and ready for the gallery just need ti tidy the glazing in one or two places. Thanks for tagging along the way.
  16. Hi folk's,rattle can primed and the white area's of the ID bands painted, decided to show the upper bands which the real aircraft only wore for a few days and got a lovely blue for the upper colour.
  17. Hi folk's got a nice coat of rattle can primer on and masked and sprayed the white area's of the ID bands.
  18. Evening folk's base coat on the interior and engine assembled and painted.
  19. You can sign me up A.N,it's 80 year's this month since my Dad and his white knee's disembarked in Naples for the long slog up to the Yugoslav border over a year later. If it doesn't get approval make it a big GB for next year's and the end of hostilities in Italy.
  20. Evening folk's time to start this build as usual with the excellent cockpit supplied.I'm considering maybe adding the later Wildcat in a late 30's yellow wing scheme.
  21. That looks excellent,coming on a treat!
  22. Up and running again in the loft but sadly neglected this build need to re-open the box!
