Battle damage.
Well actually short shots. Airfix will surely replace the affected parts…
Not sure Marklo, lord knows how long Aldi has had the stock but that battle damage remark gives me an idea!

Hi folk's one of those days when I really cannot be bothered with painting cleaning airbrushes etc so what was meant to be a quick clean up of part's got me to this point.
I cut out the pathetic attempt at the stick's so I'll add something a bit better from scratch later when the cockpit get's attended to,little smidge of filler needed before primer.

Morning folk's.not forgotten this build she's under primer and drying nicely so decision time on finish .I'm going to disappoint some by going for the night finish only as I've another planned build of this kit in the go large GB later this year so the Day fighter scheme will be done for that one.Iwonder what your thoughts are for the wheel well colour and u/c legs on this version?

Hi folk's sorry this one's gone bin side had her all done just tweaked the canopy never realised I had glue on the fingers picked it up saw the smudge grabbed the white spirit but as
I was wiping it off with a cotton bud the thing crazed and melted.Common sense would tell you to order another kit for what they cost and finish it but as the wife will testify I have none
so binned the damn thing and cursed a wasted week,ah well onward and upward!

This is a very easy build Steve, not many parts and a nice fit. As I recall there were no instrument panel decals supplied and the control sticks and shapeless poles.
Looking forward to see how you whip into shape! (I did mine as a Finnish Air Force jet)
Thank's Ray,I've built the single seater thoroughly enjoyed the simple layout and build which is why I love these easy kit's.

great choice of kit and scheme I'd really like to do a desert schemed 190 time permitting.

Cockpit looks great Ian,I'm just on with Tamiya's Mosquito which is the first 1/72 offering I've built every bit as good as their 1/48 kits this one looks to be the same quality.

I notice you haven’t painted the white stripes. My mister craft has a full decal as l sheet for them. PM me if you need them.
Thaks for that Marklo.I'm using spare
decals from the stash but if there's an issue I'll be in touch.

Hi Steve, great choice. I remember the kit being released and may well have bought it but sadly let it go! I do like the Chine Lake scheme very much. Other options look equally attractive. Looking forward to this build.
I remember back in 1978, we had holidayed in Germany and ESCI were newly released on the market and very reasonably priced. The back seat of our Cortina Mk3 was stacked with kit boxes. At customs returning to the UK via the hovercraft, in the 'nothing to declare' queue, the customs guy just looked, shook his head and waved us through.
The Starfighters were my favourites but I never built one!
Colin
Hi Colin, yea I love the Fury with the scheme's available although this kit's a bit of a Frankenstein being based on their sabre with bits of F-86/F2 and F3 Fury but not really bothered
it looks fine for my need's I can remember back in the mid-eighties when Esci ceased trading poundstretcher round the corner from work in Sunderland had piles of the 1/48 range on
floor selling for £i:99 which was well over half the RRP at the time sadly money was tight so only a couple came my way!

Blimey! Hobbyboss modelling is quick...
You'll be first over the line at this rate, Steve.
I love them Ian just over a fiver for most a great idea for our blitzbuild GB's and for honing painting skill's too.Anyway thankfully no mottling on this scheme so after the appropriate
Gray and Green were brushed on being Tamiya paints Humbrol Gloss coat can be brushed witin about ten minutes, should get a few decals on later.

Hi folk's five pieces in total get's you to this stage of the build,a few spots of white flexi filler were used if you care to spot the area's it was needed.
Primed the whole kit in the light blue of the fuselage side's.
And after masking the underside red applied,no decals are supplied for the white striping but I can rustle some up from spares.

Afternoon folk's,decided to put all else aside and enjoy the day on this project. As usual with these kits assembly is measured in minute's a little filler and ready for primer.
The base coat of Green brushed on the Green Heart machine after the underside blue.
Quicker progress on the other, sprayed all over in light blue then the upper gray's brushed on a few passes of thinned black just to "grime" it up a little. The red fuselage
band was useless and too short so I'll paint it instead.
