Ah, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, sometimes I see them with the F-16's and A-10s practicing down here in Florida at the Avon Park Bombing Range. I live right at the begining of the north run turn in point...... -

These 2 RF's were built with just doing a few minor changes. Starting with the Trumpeter kit: Hosted on Fotki I simply shaved off the nose gun, removed the needle (?) on the nose, filled the rear Sparrow indents, and made a new flat nose gear door...added a small piece of plastic sanded to shape of the camera bay and painted the camera windows black. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I did not quite achive this actual shape but does fine for me..... Hosted on Fotki You can see the top RF still has the rear Sparrow location unfilled...This is do to the fact that in my Post Apopalytic theme they would still need to defend themselves, hence the Sparrow locations and Sidewinders...... Hosted on Fotki The tail has since been repainted yellow (Corporate owned by the Kodak Corp) markings to follow at a later date.....

Looks great. I have recently started build the 1/144th stuff and enjoy them although decaling raises my Blood pressure with some of them being so small and others so long and thin... -

the Skyraiders were my 1st ones and I just repainted them, but plan on getting others and doing just that...take apart and rebuild them. The nice thing is they offere A/C that aren't available in kit form....and if you shop you can get them for a nice price. Am currently planning on some F-100s, A-26 Invaders ( high $$$ on these) a few more Skyraiders, and others..... -

Quick question--should I be posting these in another area of the forum as I just found the "What if" threads???? -
Very nice job, it's great to see companies venturing away from the standard combat poses and such......

Built in a short number of days but a lot of hours, only to get beat out by models that didn't meet the criteria of 2 0r more vehicles and 5 or more troops. Have 10 different vehicles and 90+ troopers on the dio, hand built the trees from roots and railroad foam, scratched the bridge and supports, rock walls foam core poster board and clay, other rocks cast plaster and on and on and on......Most troopers were modified at least a little...but the judges decision was final and I can accept that......I athink they were overwhelmed with all the mini dios with in the dio......

This is my approximately 4' x 4' dio I built in under a year for the IPMS Nationals in Orlando, Fla. Didn't win anything but have thouroughly enjoyed building it and am currently changing some of the vehilces for others as well as adding more troopers,,,,Klick on the pics and go to my Fotki album where there are 53 pages of the build for viewing..... In my Post Apopalytic world the nukes have flown, the war has raged, ended and the Governments are gone. They have been replaced by Corporate Territories, private territories, free territories, and many other kinds. There are Merc units for hire (if you a wanting to take or defend what is yours), Corporate forces for defending Corporate properties, pirates, free lancers, drug and sex cartels, small bussineses entreprineurs, and various others in a world trying to recover. ..And here is one of my 1st Small businesses "Skeeter's" Strip club...I used the Academy Luthansa Boeing 707 w/Conway engines (free kit given to me), some stock car & kit decals, and colors of my choice.... Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Since most air traffic flies in large convoys (much like the Ship convoys of WWII) "Skeeter's" Mile High Strip club came into business, providing entertainment and transportation to any willing to pay....Rumor is that there is a new company being pretty much the same (a few extra emenities being offered) and will be going by the name of "Hooter's Air" following on a short lived airline in operation before the War.......Stay tuned for more stories and aircraft pics coming soon.
