  1. They're all 1/32. I like working in that scale. I like the size, although I do struggle with storage. Hi, they're all 1/32. I like the size but I do struggle with storage.
  2. Hi, I used 2 coats of Microscale Flat varnish thinned down. That allowed a slightly more gloss finish than pure matt. I've found Xtracrylix a bit difficult to thin down and clogs the airbrush in no time at all.
  3. Hi again. Apparently none of the pictures posted so I'll try one more time!
  4. That's a great looking build. Superb weathering. I've thought about buying this kit myself but couldn't quite work out where to put it. It has a massive wingspan. Look forward to seeing more from you.
  5. Here are some relatively low grade pics of my completed PCM Tempest. This almost finished up the wall after much swearing trying to fit the resin wheel bay. I thinned it down so much I went straight through it and it still wouldn't fit. Many thanks to Graham at Relish Models for sourcing a replacement set for the cost of postage. As with any limited run kit it took some sanding and filler to make it look reasonable. I was aware of the need to trim the chin intake following several other built reviews. For the observant amongst you, yes, I do know the serial number is incorrect for this aircraft. I totally messed up whilst applying the proper set but by this time I'd almost lost the will to live. Any flaws are all mine and PCM have to be commended for providing this kit in this scale. Finally tought I'd show the kit with it's stablemates, a Revell Mk1 Hurricane and MDC Typhoon (Now there is a very heavy kit).
  6. Hi. That's some excellent subtle shading and weathering. Love the finish.
  7. Just the way I like to see them. I think some kits can look a bit too clean. Even though they may have been well maintained in the field, there would still have been oil stains and mud etc on them. Keep it up!
  8. Great weathering. It looks as if its been well used. If only I had the cash for these. I visited their stand at Telford and am saving up now for the intended Do 335 release.
  9. Just about finished this one. I know there's talk in some forums about the accuracy of the nacelles etc but i haven't the patience (or skill) to rectify those. For me, it's all about the fun of getting it out of the box and building the thing. Why get stressed out over something that is meant to be a pleasurable experience. I was a bit anxious about how to deal with the mottling and then I remembered I had an old Airwaves etched brass mottling mask. this made the task much easier! I think the swastikas are probably too large but not overtly so. It took a fair bit of lead to get it to sit properly. In the end I put it in the spinners and even the nosewheel. I'd definitely do one again, maybe as a captured aircraft.
  10. I decided to clean a cabinet out the other day and thought I'd take a couple of pics before I put them back. The only drawback with this scale is that space is an issue. Some of these have now been relegated to the loft, probably never going to see the light of day again. Perhaps its time to move! 11. Having built both the Ta 152 and Me 262 in Luftwaffe markings I decided next time I'd do something a little different. These 3 aren't exactly historically correct but they're close enough for me. The Ar 234 is the MDC kit and I had a real painful experience with the canopy glazing. I think I must have sanded the fuselage halves too much and hence they were too narrow for the glazing. Having looked at the photo's I've realised I've omitted the RAF roundels under the wing. The Ta 152 is the PCM kit which went together well. The Me262 kit is the Trumpeter 2 seat nightfighter but converted into a 2 seat trainer. They're never going to win any competitions but what the hell, I've enjoyed getting them over the line.
  12. Wow! Absolutely fantastic! I aspire to weather an airframe that well. Congrats.
  13. Hi, I'm too embarrassed to have posted any WIP. I think I may have sanded too much off the fuselage halves which then impacted later on with the canopy glazing. I don't think its a problem with the kit, more my inadequate skills with resin. I've built the MDC Typhoon with success in the past. There were one or two warped pieces that I had to rectify but that was no big issue. One other word of warning-the completed kit weighs a ton! Here's a couple of photos of the completed build. I tried to depict a captured aircraft being used for evaluation. I used late war RAF roundels but they may be a bit too bright. I might repaint and use the Luftwaffe supplied decals when I've got my appetite back.
  14. Hi, I've added a few more photos but please bear with the poor quality as my cameras good for the beach but not much else!
  15. Having completed a very frustrating build of the MDC 1/32 Ar 234 I needed a kit which I could throw together quickly OTB. I purchased a set of Montex masks which depict an aircraft of 126 Squadron stationed in Ta'Oali in 1941. I like the end result but my poor photography skills have failed to show the best results.
  16. That's a great looking build. I've got one myself but I'm holding back until I've cleared some space to put it. Might have to go down to B&Q for the paint. How much did you end up using?
  17. That's great looking build. From one newbie to another-well done!
  18. Ok. I've re-read the upload instructions. Fingers crossed I've done it right this time. This was a great kit. I've built a couple of Jerry's in the past (Ta 152C and H) and always managed a half-decent result. http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o654/peterh49/IMG_0136_zps0fb4da9d.jpg http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o654/peterh49/IMG_0135_zps3bce26f7.jpg http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o654/peterh49/IMG_0134_zps6b1b421e.jpg http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o654/peterh49/IMG_0133_zps3fd05d40.jpg
  19. Hi, They seem to have uploaded fine. Maybe the problems your end?
  20. I completed both of these towards the end of 2012. They're not historically accurate in terms of the markings, but I had fun building them, and isn't that what its all about? First off, the Revell Ju88. Followed by Jerry Rutman's Henschel 129
