just a quick word of warning to anyone else buying this kit.the helmet has a small piece that fits in the recess there the black/yellow lines go. i made the mistake of fitting it so i could primer the helmet, DONT. if you do you cant put the vision glass in.i had to cut the piece out so have now got to scratch build a replacement, that concludes the public service message for today. -
will you be dropping a proton torpedo down that exhaust port by any chance?

ok so heres the pic of the boots and gloves, all black so not very exciting im afraid. the ring of flares are painted with tamiya aluminum i may colour code the tops for a little extra detail (gives me the excuse for some pink ). today i built the chest rig, its a rather fiddley but nicely designed piece. the back and front plates each have 4 different shaped hole , the 4 straps have the corresponding plugs. this way the whole thing can only go together one way. though i did need to clamp the top ones , not sure if they were warped or id just misaligned one. never the less it all went together ok in the end. i preshaded it with some duck egg blue and gave it a wash with very thinned tamiya sea blue. ok so thats it for today. thanks for viewing and your comments. -

right the flight suit. having never painted a figure this size with only an airbrush i went back to my armour days for the pre-shading. as orange is not usually as opaque is some colours i played it safe with nothing to dark, started with vallejo fire red for deep shadows, then there fire orange. game colour air moon yellow, and finally i tryed AKs new white airbrush paint. all worked ok but the Ak white im still not sure about, seemed a bit rubbery looking on the model. here are the results All in all i was happy with the results. It actually reminded me of Hans coat on Endor lol so next the orange, for this i used plain n simple vallejo air Orange . sprayed in a side to side up n down grid formation . so this is the result. once again the energy saving light bulbs dont do it credit, there are some nice subtle variances it he tone that dont show up in the photos, all in all i was quite impressed with the outcome so all i need do now is a light wash to bring out the seams n stitching . il leave that to nearer the end though. may give it a light satin varnish tho to keep it safe not sure il be able to do much tommorow as iv got my car to MOT and im on 2-10 at work but hopefully il be able to do something small at least. Enjoy. -
iv found it very useful, im worried about the candy alclad so iv got a spare torso from the Shiraki Meiko catsuit version im practicing with. hopefully after my jaina solo build il got liz finished
