Spanish Civil War GB II 33 and STILL growing!
Botan replied to TonyTiger66's topic in Group Build Chat 2020
Hello, you can count me again By the way, do anybody have an idea, how German U-33 or U-34 looked during their participation in SCW? It would be nice to make model of one with Spanish/Franco ensign. -

Does equipment interned and used in neutral/third party country count, for example German and US aircraft which landed in Switzerland or Sweden? -
It differs between kits and ... planned amount of mud. In this case I will airbrush base colour, hand paint details, which seems to be accessible in this case, and then put some weathering, which will cover problematic places, if I find those. I think I'm going to glue wheels, fenders and body to chassis after painting, but to be honest I haven't thought thoroughly about that at this point

Time for update. I have thinned bottom edges of the engine compartment's side panels. Current state of the kit. Underside of the kit is mostly done. Unfortunately, I haven't found a photo of of 3rd series turned upside down, and I do not known differences between series in that area, so I will just add some bits to back axis basing on NorthStarModel PE instruction. Also I removed striations from car body, removed mould handles, drilled holes for wires, exhaust and lungs on turrets and fixed some sinkholes and/or flashes/moved mould on armoured covers and other parts. I also started turrets, but those need more corrections. I will add rings under and on turrets, remade machine guns covers, close small gaps between turrets and hull, add plates with rivets on the turrets back and make barrels out of brass pipes. Fenders needs thinning and addition of missing rod braces.

It's reminds me one of Soviet Union jokes. This joke originated during the 1969 Sino-Soviet border conflict. Radio broadcaster: "Comrades! Yesterday, a platoon of the Chinese People's Liberation Army attacked an agricultural tractor without provocation." "Fortunately, our tractor returned fire. It then managed to fly back to base for repairs."

1/72 - MiG-15 "Fagot" by Zvezda (plastic Dragon Models) - released
Botan replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
I can't say about Russia, but in Poland Zvezda kits are sold in Polish Internet equivalents of Amazon (net shops with books and other stuff) alongside Revell or Airfix, when Eduard kits are avoidable only in model shops. So simply their target is different I guess. -
May I ask about serial number of Spitfire Mk I? If it is a 281 (serial number) or L1066 (RAF serial number), then it is a single Spitfire, that was purchased by Poland for trials. The plane was transported when Poland fall, so because it was already in Istanbul, it was sold to Turkey. By the way, If I'm correct, neutrality/alliance with Romania and Yugoslavia in 1939-1940 was more important than Turkey, If I'm correct, Turkey ordered 3 planes, got three, and one only because it was already there.

1/72 Emhar A7V Sturmpanzer

I will follow this one, I hope to make it in future too. I will look forward to see for Black Lion Decals works out. -
Finally I got time to move project forward. But before that, a research time! Fortunately I found some ready ideas on "On The Way!" site. I know NorthStarModels make a PE set, but I decided to make some things myself. Aside that, after closer inspection of known photo I have noticed another things to do or think about. Car on photo have search light on one turret, and those are not included in kit. I'm lucky here, because Roden 1/72 Rolls-Royce armoured car have such lights, and there is single leftover on sprues. So far my biggest concern. According to most sources, including even a colour scheme on model box (down left corner on the box back), a background on Don Army marking should be yellow, but it is white on kit decals. I do not know yet how to fix it. There is some weird shadow on car door, which is not included in kit scheme. I assume this is just some area overpainted with darker paint. There are some bright streaks, maybe car and some camouflage? Could those be just some artifacts on photography? Most cars on photographies and kit have full fenders, with cover up to the hull, but that one lacks a part near to hull. I also wonder, how to paint it. I wonder, if armoured cars produced in Britain in 1917/1918 had the same brown colour, as tanks? I also wonder, how chassis should be painted then, grey? It is quite hard to find sources about, I would be glad for any advice. Going back to plastic, so far I keep removing striations from hull and I have done a bit of chassis. I found a few minor sinkholes, so nothing problematic.

New 1/72 metal-wing Hurricane I from Arma Hobby -- Released!
Botan replied to Procopius's topic in The Rumourmonger
Poles have been using mostly M.S. 406, and were only ones crazy enough to keep flying on Caudron CR.714 though. Also apparently Arma Hobby to not like to make multiple variants for now, and Hawk 75 had many of those. -

Arma Hobby kit seems to have one sprue with wings and fuselage, without even separate front part. So I assume, there will be no more variants. -

I think you do not have to worry about that, CAD designer explained on Polish forum, that he reads online remarks and incorporate them into projects, if possible. -
Not only air, IBG is behind "First to Fight" land vehicles, if I'm correct. Also Arma Hobby will soon announce a new model too.

IBG Models started working on Lublin R-XIII series. The Lublin R-XIII was the Polish army cooperation plane (observation and liaison plane), designed in the early-1930s in the Plage i Laśkiewicz factory in Lublin. It was the main army cooperation plane used by Polish Air Force in 1939. At least 4 boxes are planned, including seaplane on floats. Source (in Polish): plastikowe.pl

Depends on definition, I think Luftwaffe '46 also covers aircraft, which were supposed to enter service in 1946, so also those at prototype stage at the end of war. P.11g with What-if regular squadron markings would count in my opinion. By the way, PZL.45 Sokół prototype apparently was finished in 50% when war started, so partially it existed.

From Facebook comments, by IBG It is especially interesting, because P.11g existed as a single prototype, which participated in combat in September 1939, but no single known photo of plane exists! It was designed as a stop-gap measure built with existing aircraft parts and leftover engines! Basically Polish Air Force '40, so a bit like Luftwaffe '46.
