  1. Hi Martin

    Great choice of build.

These were based in Oban, so I'm a bit biased !

I would love to know where this picture was taken, surely it would have easier to bring a car home from work, it must have been a swine to park, and the lawn isn't going to be too clever either !

    Cheers Pat

Since I posted in support of this build back in January, my classic Heller stash has grown ... and grown. And may grow still further. Thanks of course to much of the back-catalogue that Heller still owns being reissued, and being readily available at reasonable (or better) prices.

I now have 3 of the Noratlas 2501, thanks to a very generously priced double-kit reissue. Likewise, I have a second Canadair CL-215, with a stunning decal sheet. I'd like to build at least one of these two aircraft for the GB. I also now have a second Ju 52, a second Lansen, and a first ever Super Etendard (joining an Etendard IV in the stash). I also bought a Hellcat to replace the one I sold, but with a better decal sheet.

@Enzo the Magnificent, your catchphrase is needed here

Any chance of a picture of the CL-215 decal sheet, I've got the original kit and wondered what the other options are.

    Cheers Pat

  3. OK, time to reveal what's planned for this one

I have the decals for this Airfix Classic and as the Beechnut kit didn't come with any it's a blank canvas as far as I'm concerned.

I've searched everywhere for a stand for it, and of course now I actually need one can I find one.... no chance

  4. I have the Contrail Fairey Hendon which has unfortunately lost its clear parts, does anyone have some of these ?

Also if you are one of these talented modellers that can make replacements for these clear parts please let me know as I really want to build this kit.

    Many thanks Pat

Nothing at all insane about the idea, it just wasn't done very well and was placed in production before the bugs had all been sorted out.  Making one bigger engine by combining two smaller ones was not exactly a brand new suggestion - after all what do you imagine two-row radials are?  At least, in principle.  I wouldn't argue that all twin rows originated in two sets of an existing smaller design.

The engineers at Triumph wouldn't accept the Rover V8 for the new Triumph Stag, deciding to graft 2 Dolomite engines together instead.

The result killed a great car due to its dreadful reliability.

4 separate engines on the Manchester gave us arguably the greatest aircraft of World War 2, the Lancaster.

Thank goodness the He277 didn't get taken seriously

You need to open it so we can all see now you've awakened our curiosity :)

It can't be that weird, or can it.......... 🤔

Flash-tastic and even different coloured plastic depending on whether you choose single or twin seat versions
