  1. Hey! They were kinda good at what they did (thinking about travelling by sea here). So "even the Viking" sounds like they were just barbarians.. Hmm..? (Gotta defende my lineage here. ) Interesting discussion. To be honest, I find it disturbing that any yellow rudder ain´t reported. Intelligence-nutters usually love to report stuff like that. Especially if it has not been seen before.
  2. Seen "Luftwaffe Crash Archive" by Nigel Parker? Maybe it´s in there..? (vol.1)
  3. Great to hear you got a 1/48 Mossie - I think you will love the beauty!
  4. Looking great! I am about to start building this very kit soon-ish so it´s nice to have this reference.
  5. Absolutely stunning, great job! Looking forward to the rest of the thread.
  6. I was also a 1/72-dude but that Tamiya Mossie got me into the Dark Side.. Go for it! It´s not that mcuh different! And you can get some Humbrol-sprays for the large surfaces if you want too..
  7. The upcoming is a late variant? So the other sprues are for earlies..?
  8. Nice work! Looking real good! Ian Gleed was K.I.A. close to Tunis, not the Far East, iirc..
  9. Good to hear (kinda) it´s not just in Sweden that media can´t research for sh!t.. Happy celevrations Belfast!
  10. Thanks for the info! Didn´t know there were such cool decales, will get them myself! I have seen pics of those and while they are being painted over and wanted that effect as well. Keep up the great work!
  11. I think it looks real nice, well done! I am not familiar with your other stuff, gotta have a look at those! Possibly a slight shading - wash those lines, could make it even greater..?
  12. Thanks guys! Loved to work on the Tamiya kit so much that I am doing a Razorback right now and order one of each in 1/48 scale..
  13. I think it looks absolutely great! Well done! I love the shiny finish and the decals look good! I take it it is one of those where the white in the roundels was painted over? How did you find those resin-parts? I am about to order them for my Airfix Sea Harrier.. Already have the brass pitot-tube..
  14. The Hurricanes won the battle anyways so... Don´t think there were any problems with the Hispanos in the Whirlwind by the way? The Spit Ib and IIbs got the problem because the Hispano was tilted slightly, or so I thought?
  15. Should be 315 Squadron - and isn´t it PAF, not RAF..? Great.looking whatever it is, simply beautiful! Well done!
  16. Looking real nice, well done! I really like that variant with cannon!
  17. Hi, I have quite a few favourite models and the P-47 might on the top, shared by a couple of Spitfire marks.. It´s such a beautiful beast that oozes power! Bought a Tamiya-model and ordered Tech-mod´s decals for Gabreski´s bubble-top. Thought I was a bit unique but it seems each and every "Jug"-kit has his decals.. Ah well.. Though I was quite happy with the cock-pit I messed up the camouflage. It got seriously messy and I was about to give up but in the end change colours and stuck to the kit. As you see I still have quite a few tricks to learn but in the end I became kinda happy with it after all. Messed up some more things in the end (decals on the side vs the stripes among other things), will add stencils etc. Was kinda happy with the wheels and cockpit. There will definelty be more Thunderbolts built here! Razorbacks and in 1/48 as well.
  18. Great looking! Can´t wait to see the rest of the bunch!
  19. Looking.. ..different. But I am sure you´ll pull it off nicely! The decals look real nice though.
  20. It´s a great little (cheap!) kit that looks fabolous! Though I haven´t built Tamiyas - I chose a second Airfix Mustang since you can actually build the flaps (?) dow. Which you cannot with Tamiya. And the fit is almost as Tamiya generally is.. Airfix really managed to compete highly here! Cheap, looks good, great fit, good decals etc.
