  1. Hmm.. One of the prop-decals is not right, must have slipped.. Was pretty careful. Well, I need to add the strut placards anyways.
  2. Looking stuuningly good. Wish that kit was easier to pick up these days..
  3. Looks better with the prop on.. (Ultracast, correct one for the next? But this is not glued so I can change later). And I will wash it a little in the middle.. Oh, and varnish it.. Same for the replacement serialcode decal.. Glass for positional lights, small actuators in the wheelhouse and doors for the arsewheel left..
  4. Done some more.. Prop with its tips and decals are on the way.. And I will re-decal the tail when i do that!
  5. Thanks mate. A couple of mistakes and sloppy places but - I am decently happy for once.. Quite clean but that is okay! And now she´s got teeth! Master´s brass, blast tubes. Alclad Stainless Steel. And flaps, not glued, yet, since I need to thin the supports. Tricky to get in properly after painting like this, it seems? But I might just leave them unglued (though get them more properly in place) Not much left then!
  6. Thanks @Tbolt. You have been invaluable with alot of the details. I was going to mask off the tail and spray the "hinges" yellow.. But since I keep messing up.. Ah poo-poo.. Atleast i have spares - kits World. But I decided to leave those painted in camo. Do not wanna mess up more. It bugs me but I can live with it.. Lesson learned.. And since I probably will do another one of this subject in the future.. It is okay-ish.. The "X" on the codes is a bit more pronounced with an "up" and "down" part than on some other decals, I think.. Too bad I messed that up too.. i thought about lifting it off too but.. No. And thinking about decals.. Did I place the national insignia/roundel too far forward on the left wing? I looked so carefully (maybe not!) on panel lines.. I will probably use my Neutral Grey-painted big bags though, I like the look of them attached.. We need to get to the Nazi jets.. I will take better pictures later, but there is a bit of spill and streaks from the filler caps. Not sure how realiztic but i liked the look of it.. Painted the area behind the armoured plate in the cockpit (OD - or an old Vallejo Brown Violet from my Flames of War days)) but the rail guide support thing was sprayed Citadel Chaos Black from a rattle can and then sprayed Tamiya OD from a can.. So different but under the canopy it is just a little difference in the shade.
  7. Looking really good! Wrong scale to me, which is a shame! Since the fillet-part is a nice touch and the subjects even more so! Evalina etc.. i think it looks great! And I hope you will enjoy it!
  8. The sheet at the top right has Lt. Leo Batista´s signature on it - pretty cool. Need to find a way to display it nicely later. The sheet below is an alternative with red stockings, which seems more correct to be honest (I was shown a picture that I lost! And on that one, they actually looked red!) Maybe I will redo the subject some day with that decal? But I also plan to get Zotz 1/32 sheet if I can - the only thing i would need is a Vector engine for an M. Also got this today, which made me happy..! Took long enough, thanks to our customs.. The curator (?) at Halesworth even mailed me when he sent it (a sunday iirc!) and was very polite.. great book from what seems like a very friendly museum! IMG_0400 by Tobias Björkman, on Flickr Also visible, the not yet ready tanks and the cockpit of my Revell N..
  9. Been a bit slow here.. But done a few things - like started to fix the smaller pieces and painted the big, flat tanks. I will use them if I think they look good enough - and does something for me on the aircraft. But they would be needed to make sure the Glory Boyz in their Mustangs do not get all the Huns, eh? Pondered about the plastic blast tubes in the kit or a Master set (I have three). Went for the Master ones.. Not that the tamiya ones do not look good - but I had some trouble telling which was the pointy end.. Could not tell about the tapering and I guess tamiya would have the back end where I had to cut it from the sprue, but it did not look that way.. So I skipped them. The Master ones look really nice though and slid in easy enough during dry-fitting! before i primed them with Alclad´s Gloss Black that is.. (which needed quite a few coats on that brass!). Hopefull they behave later on.. The lady popped down nicely in the end, with Tamiya´s Super Strong Mark Fit.. Sweet! And the varnish did the last little tricky area flat. Was a bit worried about that one actually.. (Engine placard looks.. Weird. Not sure what to do there) IMG_0399 by Tobias Björkman, on Flickr Just repainted the DDG-area behind the cockpit with Vallejo Brown Violet - brush painted in the end. Needs a little wash, probably Agrax Earthshade.. Next time i do it right from the start.. But I think that will do.. Alrigth anyways. IMG_0397 by Tobias Björkman, on Flickr The rim is painted metal but not with a spread down from it, giving a rounded shape like the canopy.. Atleast not yet.. We will see.. And I will repaint the hinges on the rudder yellow too, as it should be! it annoys me too much! I hope to finish off the bird during the holidays.. And then i will probably do a Razorback Raid Hot Mama or Miss Second Front - I like both, but the second one´s pin-up a little more.. but the spinner there is scary-looking.. As F***! Got some nice decals from mr Norris Graser from Thundercals. Great guy that like @Tbolt has helped ALOT with my stupid questions. Thanks guys! IMG_0394 by Tobias Björkman, on Flickr
  10. Wonderful build - and collection. I am really jealous! Excellent painjob!
  11. Looking really nice! Lovethe paintjob. And i fear their decals even more now, not build any kits where those "newer" decals were included - but i have this (and three other) Long Range Mustang-kit..
  12. Sure, sounds like a good plan, I will do that! (I found my mail too!) Nice to see you on the Vendors list/section!
  13. Thanks. I found that out the hard way sicne I had no username nor did it want my e-mail.. But i think I have the e-mail when i purchased it, still! Oops though..
  14. Cool, was waiting for that! Any old "subebrs" got the new updated as well as I understood it?
  15. I bought it when I saw it on LSP. Good book. I do not have the kit (but a couple of Tamiya and 1/48th versions) - and found it pretty useful as a reference for the cockpit for example. Good product!
  16. Looking good - and those Austrian ones had nice colours. Christer already mentioned the J 35Js and 4 external tanks so.. I took a look in my box of the same Eduard version you have.. But sadly I gave away my tanks when I sold a recce Draken.. Otherwise you could have gotten mine.. But i will check my big bitz box too..
  17. Just bought one of these boxings, 2nd hand - to compare to the Tamiya, newer Airfix and later Eduard (not built one yet). And I like it! Apart from the mentioned tail wheel and exhaust stacks you need to insert early.. And maybe the non-dropable flaps. But the kit is excellent for its age! I prefer it over the Airfix and maybe over the Tamiya.. But those two feel close with pros and cons on each. I guess Eduards new one is just superior - but maybe fiddlier to build? We´ll see.
  18. Very nice of you. I have for quite a few aircraft of the old - and I will look at the local store if they still carry a few of the old. You never know. So no crisis but still very kind of you. And earleir today, I was about to spray the OD under the canopy, at the back of my Revell P-47N.. A little distracted by an exciting podcast - I grabbed the IG instead of OD.. And then as I sprayed - Hang on, this ain´t right. If I did not do stupid things like that, I would last forever..
  19. Yes, I will probably try those too. I have bought quite a few MRPs - but I know my Tamiya and Gunze paints so well - and they stink less, even with Mr Levelling Thinner. It is quite fun trying new stuff though..
  20. I might have a look at the mr Color stuff.. Used some a few years ago. Yeah mixing Tamiya I have done, but was kinda glad when I found the old H58 so i did not have to..
  21. Yes - and which is fine. But this new shade should not be called Interior Green. I guess there is no other shade they have, that resembles the old H58? I will try with 10% black and see how I like it..
