Airfix Bloodhound missile trolley, how accurate is it?
darthspud replied to bootneck's topic in AFV Cold War
Sure i've seen a Bloodhound on a trailer at IWM Duxford or a.n.other museum, maybe RAF Museum @ Hendon. Surely they have online presence to get this info? -
A Viper i've not come across before. Random, but would the Marble Peace Dorsal spine be a similar profile for this ? The over lumps bumps and protrusions shouldn't be a hard job to complete. Never seen the decals either, may spend this afternoon looking for them now., bugger!!!😁😁

The IFR actually came free almost as I'd got it flat, but I had to remove the piece as there was a flippin great hole in the middle. Thankfully I had the blanking piece to hand and with a little fettling, of dried glue, I got it to fit into place

Someone, somewhere inside the Hexagon is crying into their overtime as you beat them to the unveiling. Unveiling a 13 quadrillion buck feasibility concept, which you did for £50 as a side project!

Pretty Connie. -
A few wip pics Sorted the paint scheme tested the weapon fit to wing pylon and pylon to wing One magnet needed re-orientating, so not too bad for a first effort

Now that's a pretty UHU. Almost glad i don't use an airbrush, cos i'd never get that proficient.

Never got to Lakenheath, managed Mildenhall a few times on NATO naval exercises. Played with Beech King Airs & ANG C-130's. Unit in the next hanger complete gun happy loons. Think they were MH53 combat search & rescue.

Literally just tried to remove the seat, no dice it's in and it ain't coming out. The refuelling receptacle I'll try and cut/file down. Paint needs work anyway.
-
Change of heart, going to do a slightly less than normal scheme, still from the box, but it's not one i've seen done anywhere on an A-7E/D, Going to try and do the 1991 USS Enterprise 3 tone grey scheme ( or my version anyway) Pics to follow

Lovely finish of a spiffing little kit set. Now someone at Airfix , please release this and the Bomber Command set in 1/48 please.
-
I'm using the kit seat. It's one mainly and if I had had a seat of any description I'd have used one. The resin avionics bays were in the stash from years ago. I might see if I can tease the seat out and use a spare F16 ACEs II seat as I have a few spare.

Screwed up, used the Air Force refuelling part rather than the blank piece. Dammnit.

Our Harriers had a very fine CoG. Even pilot changes could alter it more than a half meter forward or back

US Navy -E , but essentially they are the same aircraft i understand. Realised i have no suitable colour for the avionics bay, but i may wing it with some desert tan thinned with white.
