  2. Good morning all Thank you for your responses, I'm very surprised from reading yours and others experience's with Hermes they lasted as long as they did, doesn't look to bright for Evri either judging from the report on the BBC news yesterday. DPD or UPS for me from now on. Thank you all again. RR (Chris)
  3. Hello all To stop me going totally round the bend does anybody have a contact email for Hermes / Evri couriers please. Their automated chat system does not cover the subject I'm trying to find out about so I just keep going round in circles, and their automated telephone system doe's not understand the Queens English so its around in circles again, and cost's a fortune. Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you. RR (Chris)

  5. Tailspin Turtle and AV O thank you for the additional information, great pictures this and the previous time AV O. Tailspin Turtle, Tailhook Topics is one of my top go-to search areas for naval aviation subjects, great information thank you. Thank you to all who replied, it's yes to a HUD for me. I'm looking to convert the 1/48 Hobby Boss A-6A into a KA-6D using CAT4s conversion and various decals for VA-65 from 1975 when the Ark Royal and the Independence carried out cross-deck operations. https://www.facebook.com/Scramblemagazine/photos/just-a-nice-pictureduring-the-seventies-this-was-a-common-sight-the-flight-deck-/3555465477813294/ Cheers RR
  6. Good morning Gentlemen thank you for taking the time to reply it's very much appreciated. I agree with your comments but with one niggle, I have several pictures of A-6s or KA-6Ds (some don't say which) in flight showing the HUD base but no screen or screen framework. Added to my frustration my internet provider has recently switched security provider to Norton and since then I can not gain access to my pictures on Village Photos, sorry. At the moment this is the best I can do. https://nara.getarchive.net/media/the-pilot-of-an-a-6e-intruder-guides-his-aircraft-into-position-for-aerial-0e3865 Once again thank you for your help RR
  7. Okay stupid question time, did the pilot of a Grumman KA-6D Tanker have a Head Up Display ? I can find quite a few pictures of the A-6 Intruder cockpit but KA-6D cockpit pictures are a bit thin on the ground. Any help as always will be gratefully received. Cheers RR
  8. Hello Carlos Thank you for your reply, I had heard the project had bee delayed/placed on hold due to the pandemic, it's good to have information confirmed from an other source. Also thank you for the tip regarding the S-2 book, I'm in the process of trying to track it down in the UK. Carlos your help is very much appreciated. Cheers Chris.
  9. Hi scotthldr I must admit I did think the same, is there still a requirement as there is now no longer carrier however, in 2017 the Brazilian Navy indicated that despite the decommissioning of the São Paulo, the Navy wanted to retain the capability of carrier-based fixed-wing operations, and was continuing the KC-2 COD/AAR programme. In September 2020 the Brazilian government published it's defence strategic plan, in a nutshell:- Brazil plans to build an aircraft carrier (preverbally two) with a foreign partner as part of an effort to enhance the military readiness of the Marinha do Brasil (Brazilian Navy). DCNS Evolved Aircraft Carrier (DEAC) project The plan is for the carrier(s) to be built in Brazil, based on an existing design, Defence Minister Celso Amorim said “Latin America’s largest country will require a new aircraft carrier(s) within 15 years”. For the past few years, French shipbuilder DCNS has been showcasing its DEAC Aircraft Carrier project. According to DCNS, the DEAC is based on French Navy CVN Charles de Gaulle's combat proven design and aviation system. It is capable of providing power projection, sea control and air defence. The aircraft carrier is compatible with all CTOL aircrafts (including Airborne Early Warning aircraft) and features the latest technologies including cutting-edge Combat System, UAV integration, advanced conventional propulsion and state-of-the-art platform stabilisation system. It has to be noted that DCNS already has a strong presence in Brazil as the company is currently building five submarines as well as a naval base in the country with local industry partners. Added to this is the US Company General Atomics is actively marketing its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) to several countries including Brazil. During the LAAD 2013 defence exhibition, SAAB showcased a carrier-based version of its Gripen called the "Sea Gripen". The Brazilian Defence Ministry announced that Brazil had chosen the SAAB Gripen over the Boeing Super Hornet and the Dassault Rafale. Now I know plans and reality are two different things, but I believe this might be worth keeping an eye on. I hope this is of interest. RR (Chris).

  13. Hello all I was wondering if any of our South American members know the latest on the KC-2 Turbo Trader COD/AAR conversion being done by Marsh Aviation/Elbit Systems for the Brazilian Navy. Any up to date news would be greatly appreciated. RR (Chris)

  15. Hi Corvil, hello all A couple of pic's showing 892 phantoms with missile loads. The first two in colour taken with one of the old Kodak 110 cartridge cameras I used to keep in my flight deck jacket pocket, sorry not the best quality. The first black & white pic is from a slightly later time frame but it does show a good selection of weapons, I think it was posed for an open-day or the like. The second black & white pic shows a heavy bomb load, the 892 would carry bombs on a fairly regular basis. I hope they are of some help. All the best RR (Chris)
  16. Hi Robert Thanks for the info, very much appreciated. Cheers Chris.
  17. Hi Robert Thanks for the swift reply, could I be a pain and ask for the ISBN number(s) please. Cheers Chris.

Wellsprop thanks for the info, I was thinking of attempting a latter Mk.4 version with BERP blades (anything to keep it simple). Colin thank you for your generous offer however, I already have 2 sets of you wonderful conversion (Rotorcraft 4803) it was the conversion set and finding the decals that gave me the idea. Thank you all who have taken the time to respond, it's very much appreciated. RR (Chris)

  21. Hello all Having recently found a set of Berna decals I had forgotten I had, how easy would it be to convert the 1/48 Airfix Westland Lynx Mk.88A/HMA 8/Mk.90B into either a Mk.2 or Mk.4 from the Aéronavale. Any help or pointing in the right direction would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers RR (Chris)

  24. Hi exdraken Wingman use to include a canopy (Kinetic?? not sure) and according to the box tops shown in the links above canopy's are included, I'm not sure of there origins. I agree with your assumptions I also think Multicast could be/is a spin-off Wingman, and yes with Isra Cast connections. Hope this helped. RR
