  1. Is that train scratch built? Looks amazing. Are you going to paint it further?
  2. Great work, very impressed with your perseverence, very hard on the grey cells!
  3. I'm afraid I can only recognse the Whippet and Mk1 lower right corner. Is that a French tank on the right middle shelf?
  4. Great work and photo descriptions as usual! Where did you find the disc-cutting set I see? Is the WASMEx 2021 the model show I've been to occasionally in Cannington? Definitely need to go next year and see your stuff in the flesh!
  5. Impressed with the precision of your work, and the headaches you give yourself!
  6. HaHa, I’m often venturing into those 2nd hand bookshops in Freo, can’t believe I haven’t seen that book before!? Of course Bandsaw Steve you would have been the first to hear about it. Good luck with the build when you start, looking forward to following along.
  7. Love it! Great attention to detail. ( Personally, I would cut the eye balls in half with the eye lids however)
  8. Yes, recognise the depiction from the photo. Been there as well! Great work.
  9. Thanks The rigging is in fact quite easy. EZ line is elastic, and with slight tension applied and a touch of superglue you're good to go. The hardest bit is following the instructions where the rigging goes and you need to work from inside out.
  10. Check out this link for possible extra help? https://modelshipworld.com/forum/13-ships-plans-and-project-research-general-research-on-specific-vessels-and-ship-types/
  11. That must be Boffins the bookshop. My favourite bookshop too! I like to buy books from there occasionally but often can find cheaper versions from book depository for example. Always make a beeline for that shop every time we ‘re in the City, then for that far corner of the shop. BTW have you checked out the excellent forum ModelshipWorld for information on scratch builds etc? Sorry if its already been mentioned.
  12. Fantastic! Very atmospheric. On hindsight if I was the commander I would have had foot patrols out in front!
  13. My wife loves 'Cattywumpus' its going to be our Word of the Year now!
  14. Good for you showing your early modelling efforts. Personally I would find it too painful to look at my previous builds, and would often just throw them away and start again!
  15. Fantastic! But it must take so long to do!!
  16. Love the painting and display. The skin maybe looks a little too dark?
  17. Great model, well done! HaHa my Avatar is the Gambier Bay. It comes from the book cover off the book about the Gambier Bay!
  18. Hi. With Vallejo Model Colour paints I like to give the paint bottle a good shake with an electric shaker, then dispense a little into a small plastic cup (cheap ones from Reject shop for eg), and add Vallejo thinner for a milky consistency, PLUS a drop or 2 of Vallejo FlOW. Have a good stir, and then pour into the airbrush. Seems to work well with me. I also might add a little thinner when using Vallejo Air paints.
  19. Great work. Amazing story. I think the pilot should have been given a medal for inititive, a brilliant landing and saving the plane!
  20. HaHa!, now I'm tempted! Need to think fast.
  21. I've just seen this. I've never entered a modelling competition in my life. I think I'm too scared to be judged now.
  22. Looks amazing. Just needs some Grenadier Guards! Actually they were at Hougmont. I think I mean't KGL (King Germal Legion) soldiers.
  23. Looks amazing. Love seeing figures with a plane/vehicle whatever, always improves a sense of scale.
  24. Indeed me too. Had a Honda 50 that ran out of fuel. Luckily I had a down hill free wheel for about 3 miles to the next petrol station!
