  1. Now all we need is a 1/48 Puma :-)
  2. just trawled through a couple of aviation image sites and the following link to Herc images in Wrap around from 1985 & 86 - room for error I know but aviation enthusiasts of the ilk that post regularly on such sites, keep tidy records of movements and dates to accompany images. http://www.airfighters.com/photo/154629/M/UK-Air-Force/Lockheed-Hercules-C3-C-130K-30-L-382/XV302/ http://www.airfighters.com/photo/67993/M/UK-Air-Force/Lockheed-Hercules-C1-C-130K-L-382/XV206/ http://www.airfighters.com/photo/27812/M/UK-Air-Force/Lockheed-Hercules-C1-C-130K-L-382/XV187/ http://www.airliners.net/photo/UK---Air/Lockheed-C-130K-Hercules/1249390/L/&sid=2757a861b8f240edc34362bd25b84082
  3. I'm doing this all from memory but it was circa mid 80s (84/85) if I recall correctly - whilst wrap around started to appear in the 70s across the "strike" force I dont remember seeing a single 130 until post Falklands at least and I used to load them. Im fairly confident that Im not too far out here
  4. Thats something Id love to see........to build a T17 you need the Airfix B2/6 as the kit and not the B(i)8 which is a completely different version (fighter offset canopy)
  5. Might come in handy for you............http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/awa01/201-300/awa281-F-5/00.shtm
  6. Put the other toys down and finish F-5's very lovely but why isnt she Danish?
  7. SO many photos of the pod both in the air and on the ground show the lense doors closed, so probably no need to use squares to replicate lenses
  8. Not this one but I do know him :-) totally disregard that one, shes an ex Warton trials a/c and never saw service as such. Regarding the tanks - firstly when you look at image on the www you have no idea how its been processed, so never a good idea to take what you see as gospel - tanks are sprayed the same shade as a/c frame but then remember wear and tear affects the colours - things like tanks are on then off, then shared with different airframes. Time to build and stop Googling :-)
  9. Yes I found some camo variants too - and LAG underside would be preferred IMO - rarer the better. Do be careful when looking at photos though because the Recce pod had a seam running the length of it and it gives the impressions that paint above and below it differ when in fact they dont- angles at work!
  10. Im pretty sure that the early Ignore that because its non standard (could even be the light) thats the Warton trials a/c. In Squadron use dont forget that the whole LAG thing on the Jaguars was very short lived as wrap around was being introduced into the RAF just as Jaguars German squadrons were forming. Ive looked through hundreds of images and have never seen anying other than all over one colour, and Im sure thats usually Green. Hope this helps.............
  11. Beautiful kit, beautiful subject, beautiful build simply superb Matthias!
  12. Dont forget the quite gorgeous HS Andover C1.....and later derivatives to - kits availbe in 1/72 too which is a bonus
  13. Ive no idea Bill but if you are a Facebook user Id highly recommend a couple of good groups associated with Woodbridge - if you want links, PM me please
  14. Lovely job Jens, love it. I too am building the same right now (Alconbury 70's) - great little kit it is.
  15. Simply amazing work and such an enjoyable WiP thread - very well done
  16. How nice to see a mid 70s RAFG finished version and very nicely done too - just to mention that you should have used the bulged bomb bay though (S2B)
  17. Ah just read your comments - Classic Airframes lives on! Lets hope so, because their intended next build was a Gannet AEW if you remember
  18. Thats very nice Tim- Im not typically one for open panels but that makes all the difference, excellent build Sir!
  19. Took delivery of one of each today and I cant see a whole lot to moan about - its like Classic Airframes never went away :-)
