Good point Geoff - your right, its tradition that exiting a/c take part in the Queens flypast in June. Always get to see it as the route into London takes them not far from here, so video at the ready again.
these sets appreared on Ebay recently - I was very interested so I watched them. Didnt realise they existed. Also, Florent on ARC (the guy updating the Mirage 2000D) produces his own resin update sets - has a link on his listings - French airwings I think. Good site.
Breaking news on Pprune announces RAF Jaguar retirement date brought forward to 30th April. I think this is for real. Wont get to see one last time after all
Not sure this directly addresses your question Bill, but I have the very good Modellers data File on the Lightning. Lots of diagrams of F3 cockpits but no mention of colours. However, there is a very detailed section on the P1A airframe at Cosford and the cockpit and all details are Black. As this is early, it may bear out what you read before.
I saw your the other topic on this Doug and have already checked. I do have a lot of Phantom books in one form or another. The problem is that all the close up pics show the hubs totaly sooted over from brake dust, so most probably aren't good enough for your needs. I will keep looking though.
Alternatively most hardware shops sell a small pack of fuse wire - usually the pack contains 3 different thicknesses of wire (5, 10 & 15 amp) The 15 amp is quite strong but pliable and is good for use in wheels wells and the like. The other 2 will come in handy somewhere too.
Jake - Evergreen make lots of styrene/plastic sheets and also several shapes and sizes of the kind of materials that Model train enthusiasts use - track layout, that sort of thing.
Hannants supply it, but their range (in shop anyway) is quite small. Try your local Train hobby shop - guaranteed to have it. I have also seen it on Ebay, and there is an on-line store somewhere that offers it. It's really best to get into a shop though so you can see the large selection available.
