Re the (what looks like F-16) and the Axe - I recalled that the Noggies flew F-5As with a large Axe symbol on their tail during the 70's - this is 332 Squadron and in fact they transitioned onto the 16's in 1980, so this could be associated with that Squadron possibly.

I can't help with the Zap (but I'll have a look through what I have) but regarding re-painting to standard Barley Grey, yes Im sure that the entire fleet (15 unless loss) were gradually painted and that would help explain the forward panel on the top image, although having said that I'm guessing that this same panel would have fit Wattishams other resident Squadron 56 with their FGR2's so it could be a rob from a US a/c?

Concur totally decals lay down but from my one succesful experience this way I did allow the Alclad to dry for a good 4 days or so after spraying before I continued to handle it, then when I did I wore gloves and picked up the kit by the leading edges etc - Alclad being notoriously easy to mark and all that. I have also applied Klear over Alclad on a NMF Lightning and it doesnt look half bad.

Nicely done Dave and a scheme you barely see modelled -
Maybe needs moving to the right section (Tools & Tips) and you may get an appropriate response

Looking at those sprues, the belly pod for the 100 family looks a little odd. Looks more like an elongated Red Arrows smoke dye tank - could be wrong and Im hoping I am because I so need one of these pods to finish a T2 build

Whilst the Vulcan is a large kit (relatively speaking) its a good subject to lose your "scribing" cherry on because the surface is mostly flat and the lines are pretty straight - you are right, its always a matter of personal choice and also ability but for me the big benefit for re-scribed panel lines are that they allow you to add a wash, and sometimes a wash makes all the difference. Choose your tools carefully, allow the scribing tool to do the work, and lightly rub them down afterwards.
