  1. You most definitely have won a customer for your first three 1/72 projects!
  2. That is a very tidy build and an excellent paint job! All flaws I see are related to the kit itself - nothing you could do about it OOB. Thanks for the heads-up on the decals and kudos for struggling to make them work Cheers, Niki
  3. Regarding buildability, perhaps this two-part video build review is of help: PART 1 PART 2
  4. Justified question, now that you mention it...
  5. Hi guys, So, there are all those Iranian F-5 variants: single fin, twin fin, single seat, twin seat, round intakes, square intakes, Saeqeh, Azarakhsh,... but what about that with the wing mounted mid-fuselage? Was this for real or just a photo-shopped picture? Does any of you know of some other images showing this aircraft? I searched the web but ended up empty handed. I'd like to see how the wing trailing edge meets the fuselage... Would it be the exact F-5 wing moved up a notch and forward?! Thanks for looking, Niki
  6. May I suggest you guys go ahead and trust your guts!? If there are second thoughts and if skipping the Etendard for now means you can bring out some other wished for [by the masses] subject* sooner, maybe you can go that route. *not yet kitted by somebody else or something that would better do with a replacement
  7. Here are the "Fact sheets" from Bombardier's webpage: CRJ700 http://commercialaircraft.bombardier.com/content/dam/Websites/bca/literature/crj/Bombardier-Commercial-Aircraft-CRJ700-FactSheet-en.pdf CRJ900 http://commercialaircraft.bombardier.com/content/dam/Websites/bca/literature/crj/Bombardier-Commercial-Aircraft-CRJ900-FactSheet-en.pdf Maybe the figures there help... Cheers, Niki
  8. Over at airlinercafe.com, Jon of 8aDecs says he figures one needs to remove one window frame forward (6mm) and one aft (7mm) of the wing to turn the 195 into an 190: http://www.airlinercafe.com/forums.php?m=posts&q=9666
  9. As long as you work out a combined postage deal, the kit by itself is being sold in Germany even for between 10 and 12GBP.
  10. I understand it was retrofitted (coupled with the enlarged LERXs), yes. I wonder if one could cut and swap noses between the F-5F and F-5E (shark nose) Italeri kits!?... Well, one could I'm sure but would they fit?
  11. Yannis, May I suggest you go a different, much safer and attractive route and build this: http://edokunscalemodelingpage.blogspot.ro/2014/01/egyptian-air-force-mig-21pfs-in-1970.html Just make sure to add the parabrake housing at the base of the fin of your PF. Cheers, Niki P.S.: the livery you hinted at I have only seen flying on Egyptian MiG-21MF and upgraded Mirage 5. But I would be glad to be proven otherwise
  12. I was firstly annoyed that Tamiya chose the 100th scale for this, but now I realise that we well have the Hasegawa E170 to cater for our..., well, E170 and E175 needs in 144th...
  13. Love the look of the model as well as that of the scenery in every picture there
  14. Knowing how the kit looks in its box, I can appreciate the effort you put into it. Nice paint job and good work on those decals! And thanks for the note on the BraZ LG Cheers, Niki
  15. It certainly looks sleeker than the four-engine variant Great marks for that guy's imagination
  16. Now that you mention it, that is pretty sensible assumption, I think, Rob. One more reason to suspect it would be a wild chase trying to find the exact font. Thanks for the insight! The stencils are standard from a Fighting Falcon but the exact font is unlike that/ those used on any other Viper I have seen close-up...!? In the meantime, motivated by the two earlier replies (thanks again, guys!), I dug a bit deeper in dafont.com and found these two workable options: New Stencil TFB and DIN Schablonierschrift I should be able to get away with those, I guess Cheers, Niki
  17. But where is any sign of the 'B' two-seater here?
  18. Thanks, guys! That's where I searched before asking my question here. And, yes, that's the font I mentioned as looking similar to the one in the picture. Maybe something else comes up or I am going to have to stick to it. Thanks again for your effort and input! Niki
  19. You make it look easy, John! Great step-by-step and looking forward to see this 'little' Etihad finished. Mulberry Street nail polish looks a bit of out of production and nowhere to be found, but I just might be tempted to also give this A320 a go. Cheers, Niki
  20. Hi everyone, I'm trying to build up the courage to print the decals for a little project of mine and would very much appreciate if anyone could help me with identifying this font: I have already found something of a stencils font that is broadly similar and that would probably not make such a big difference in 1/72 or even 1/48, but if there is any chance of precisely identifying the above, that would be great! ...If indeed it is a widely used font and not just some makeshift factory solution. Many thanks, Niki
  21. Not my scale, but from what I can read people seem to agree that Hasegawa has the best product. At the same time I could not notice anyone seriously bashing the Academy kit, so if it's about an early Apache on a budget or just a souvenir from Bucharest... Likewise!
  22. Should all other attempts to get a clear picture of the zaps fail, you could try contacting one of the photographers that got pictures of the aircraft at Kleine Brogel in 1988 and have an account on Airfighters.com: Peter Terlouw Lieuwe Hofstra Frank van de Waardenburg Maybe they have detail images of the interested area or even bigger original pictures on hand. Setting up an account on that site might be necessary though. Cheers, Niki
