1/32 The Worst Best Idea ever. The big Victor.
Yorki 1960 replied to TGA's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Holy poo-poo ........ this is gonna be a monster. Big comfy chair an lots of beer to follow this one. -
Its just a freak of nature, Scottish water's on a cloudless sunny day. I'm sure we must have had one sometime in the past..... I will have to hone my skills on the water. My attempt was acrylic gel and beat the hell out of it with a plastic spoon until it sort of resembled waves. The polystyrene I used has black speckles in and gives some contrast under the blue. I got it from Wicks to line my garage roof with and had half a sheet left over.

Just been reading up on Warspite A, B and X turrets had the ships gun crews and Y turret had a Royal Marine gun crew. Wonder if this was the case on other ships. -

Never having done anything like this, how do you stop it from drying out in between builds? -

Have a look at warreni's build. Would love to tackle something like this, though I would end up in the Divorce court :-). Will be watching with interest. -

Nope it was definitely Blackpool, because I remember my old boss Jim Bennett getting a bit of a b0l0cking for it. He was section leader for the in service aircraft.... I service lol Canberra, Lightning, Jags and Jet Provost / Strikemaster. The Tonka was still on the drawing board...... We had to go up to Samlesbury to survey all those lovely Canberra's. Just before they sold them all for a £1 each. Wish I now had a copy of all the photos we took that day. -

I remember walking into the hanger at Samlesbury and finding out that the tail was made from wood. Banged my head a few times on that cross beam in the cockpit as well. On the T17 (I think, twas a long time ago) we were working at Warton on the equipment in the bomb bay, at certain speeds the cooling air flow reversed and equipment started to overheated. The ground techs had the jamming equipment up and running and we had a great time letting off smoke bombs to see where the air flows were, later a phone call came in that Blackpool airport just down the road were experiencing difficulties, never found out if it was a hoax or not, but we switched it off real quick.... lol. Great work on the build. -
wow, that looks great.
