  1. We ran a modern armour GB last year, although there's no reason why you couldn't run another one and focusing on MBT's is an attractive proposition. The idea for a Comet tank GB was mooted earlier this year and that morphed into British armour after some discussion. peebeep
  2. Not a Coastal Command but 148 (SD) Sqdn machine: I might be able to find some Coastal Command pics later. peebeep
  3. Instead of photos look for videos! I think Doug's model is good for a slow taxi with the engine on idle. Depicting the take off run would be very challenging. Great work BTW Doug. peebeep
  4. ? I think that's mistaken Tony, T4's and T5's both had the straight wing (derived from F1A/F3 respectively?), whereas the T55 had the cranked wing. The T4 has the pointy fin and the T5 the F3/6 style fin. peebeep
  5. According to the review in SAM it does unfortunately, but otherwise the review is very positive. peebeep
  6. Use the Hannant's search engine, typing in 'Napier Sabre'. You get some hits! peebeep
  7. Neil doesn't have a website, send him a PM. peebeep
  8. This Sabre wing stuff is confusing, but at least I know what's what for RAF machines, thanks Bill. BTW, I think the Hobbycraft and Academy kits share the same tooling. It certainly looks like the same kit as my Hobbycraft boxing. peebeep
  9. Hannant's have the Airwaves set listed along with the Bilek kit. There are number of options on an old ESCI sheet - I have one but it's not up for grabs, sorry - and generic roundels, codes etc are pretty easy to source. peebeep
  10. That would be nice, but it would be pretty straightforward for Airfix to release the kit with the weapons and a decal sheet with something on it other than Red Arrows. Simples. peebeep
  11. Sounds like the needle is not properly engaged in the nozzle. I would strip down and squirt some liquid reamer backwards through the nozzle to blow out any gunk. Also check that the front end of the needle is completely clear of any dried on paint. Reassemble and with the needle chuck nut loosened spin the needle between finger and thumb whilst very gently applying some forward pressure to work it into the nozzle. peebeep
  12. Aeroclub do a canopy and props, Falcon have a canopy on one of their RAF sets and Airwaves do a PE set that includes the bomb racks. There are various decals that can be found. Suggest you do a search on Hannant's website. peebeep
  13. I spotted an Xtrakit PR9 at Flying Legends for what seemed like a good price (Thanks Mr Models), which will be my GB runner. But I will still check out the Airfix kits. peebeep
  14. That always happens to me. But if I try using decals then: 1. The white is never properly opaque. 2. They never fit properly. peebeep
  15. Another cracking build, Libor. Will this be in a magazine article? peebeep
  16. I'm not in the least put out, you have done most of the work! peebeep
  17. Divert! Divert! I think it may have been the underpants that were full! peebeep
  18. This has been an excellent GB IMHO, both to observe and participate (yes, I will finish the He 70, honest!). We really should thank Sgt Squarehead for initially suggesting to me that it would be a suitable GB theme. Despite my misgiving that this would likely be something of a 'minority' GB you guys have exceeded expectations with your builds, input and enthusiasm. peebeep
  19. Superglue is pants at resisting shear (sideways) loading and bonded parts will easily break off. For awkward repairs (broken aerials and sticky out bits like handlebars) it will work a lot better with some reinforcement. I always get out the micro drills and use cut off steel guitar string to reinforce these repair jobs. Also using adhesive that has some flex in it after curing is of benefit. There are some varieties of cyano that are designed for this but you should find good old white glue just as good. Gatorglue is wonderful in this respect. Anyhow, stick with it (groan ) and look forward to seeing yourself and bikes tomorrow! peebeep
  20. We will get some pics up for Bazza on Tuesday. peebeep
  21. Linky 'Surface detail with recessed panel lines'. The Dambuster parts were identified on sprue shots of the new tool kit prior to it being on general release. peebeep
  22. There's a location slot just behind the RWR. peebeep
  23. Unless I'm seeing things they're in the picture of Jonathan's WIP. peebeep
  24. The 'Works' mats are fine, they don't self-heal as effectively as more expensive gear, but they do they job. I have had a couple of A3's and an A2 knocking about for some time, when they are knackered they will be cheap to replace. peebeep
  25. Probably. Whatever happens, drink lots of beer - that usually fixes it. peebeep
