  1. While not technically scifi, I posted and asked if this build was allowed.
  2. Would this be allowed in the GB? I do have WIP pictures.
  3. Thanks for the compliments guys! That is the sad state of affairs with a lot of US model companies. They are sooo concerned about getting youngsters involved in modeling to keep the company afloat that they are forgetting about us older, more experienced modelers. I would love to have a full detail/glue C7, Mustang, 2016/17 Charger/Challenger Hellcat, etc. At least we are getting a full detail 2016 next gen Camaro from Round2. Fingers crossed on that! But we wont see them from Revell. Just more of the "Slap Togethers". Off of my soapbox now..... I'm not a follower of Foose really. I just wanted a model of the new C7. This was the only one I saw, and actually like the custom paintjob, wither it was by Foose or Jim Bob's Kustom Paint Garage, I didn't really care! LOL. I've been tempted to pick up the Revell ZL-1 Camaro. After building this Vette though, I may just wait for R2's 2016 Camaro.
  4. Nope. It has a halfway decent shine to it but you can see in the black a lot of hairline scratches. A good gloss coat or at least a good polish would improve it a lot.
  5. Yes, it is sold as a Chip Foose edition. Now wither or not Chip actually designed the graphics or Revell did the design and slapped his name on it....... The car body comes pre-painted! You just have to apply the decals. Now if you want to get rid of the few molds lines then you'll need to do a full repaint yourself. While the model looks nice in the pics, the detail in the kit is soft, it uses metal axles both front and rear. Engine and under detail is very light as well. The kit is also molded out of a funky, almost rubbery plastic. The chrome is very heavy on my kit, that's why I knocked the wheels down with Dull Coat. The clear parts are also thick and a bit "milky". The good stuff is that the proportions are good. Tires are nice. Everything fits together. Once built, with a careful detail paint job on the interior and chassis and careful application of the decals your left with a nice looking display model.
  6. Built pretty much out of the box, just as a quick build. I did drop the front axle as I felt it sat too high. Also added some custom decals to the dash and lic. plate. One more, being watched over...
  7. Love the Delorean myself! I almost bought one back in '87 but they were still a few thousand dollars more on used lots than I could afford. The Texas billionaire who bought the parts, half completed cars, etc and brought them back to Texas will sell every one he can make. They have a big cult following in the states. Multiple engine options, all new updated electronics, etc. will make for a fun toy for the baby boomers who want to recapture the days of Miami Vice! If I had the money, I would not hesitate to buy a brand new built Delorean tomorrow!
  8. It's done, check it out in the completed section!
  9. Thanks a lot everyone. It was a fantastic kit to build. Can't wait to build one for myself now!
  10. Check out my build thread here.- http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234992927-wip-lighted-bandai-falcon/
  11. Here is my completed Bandai Falcon. This was built for a friend of mine who has supplied me with a lot of Bandai SW kits direct from Japan. The kit is lighted and powered by a single 9v battery hidden in the rear. The base was made up of the two tiles from the X-Wing and two Vader Tie bases. And a few more...
  12. Not a model, and sorta scif, my new KSC Auto 9 came Monday!!!!
  13. Finished the bottom last night. I'll give it a shot of dull coat Friday. Tonight I'll finish up the base, hopefully with a little surprise! Random dots.. Streaked... And the finished finish with some pastel chalk to further dirty it up.
  14. Thanks. Hope to have this wrapped up this week. The engine LEDs are repurposed from one of the those fish tank lights for glow fish.
  15. Thanks a bunch Mike. I started this thread back when I was new to the site. Thanks for the compliment!
  16. Can a Mod move this to the WIP section? Weathering is now done on the top side. I think it came out pretty good.
  17. Well....Haven't updated this thread in a while. It got put on hold to finish my Battlestar Larson project. much progress has been made so... Finished the decals Friday and started the weathering. I'm using oils (first time) and pastel powders. The first few in progress shots shows how easy it is to over weather a Falcon. The weathering has been toned down. Far too many I see, imho, have gone a wee too far. I wanted mine to be more subtle. Still need to do the bottom after the top dries.
  18. I've built several Pulse rifles over the years. All were airsoft based. My next one is going to be real steel all the way.
  19. Thanks again guys! The original show was typical 1980's scifi. Now, if they could combine the exact look of the old show with the hi tech special effects and story lines from the new show... Yep, two years, but that was on and off again. It sat, actually "stood", next to my modeling desk for a long long time half built. I got back to work on her last winter with a pledge to get her done for WonderFest in May. The big boost was finally getting her mounted on a stand and up off the desk. This allowed much more freedom to work on her, as I wasn't struggling with her to flip her this way and that.
  20. Thanks Andrew. While it took me almost two years to finish her, it was a great build and I learned a lot along the way. The size of the kit was both a pleasure and a nightmare to work on. While I wasn't handling microscopic parts, just finding a way to maneuver such huge subassembly's was a pain.
  21. Thanks Chief! Not to mention it's the most expensive model I have ever done, and likely not to be repeated! Although, when I asked my wife if I could buy it, she didn't bat an eye when I told her the cost! Still need to take some "proper" pictures in a photo booth type setting. Need to get some black cloth as a backdrop.
  22. I've already had two cans delivered. They were shipped though, not brought back with luggage.
  23. A friend went to Japan for the weekend. He picked up the R2/BB8 combo, both of the tiny mecha cole X-Wings, and the A-Wing for me. Oh, and a case of Tamiya AS-20!
