  1. A weird thing I noticed, the sides of the bridge are replicated on both the H & K trees.
  2. The Hangar I'm not to concerned about as far as screen accuracy. It's going to be on the bottom of course and will rarely be seen by even myself. For the upper hull "back wall" in the trench area, I will remove the majority of said wall except near the nose to ensure proper alignment of the nose. I will also leave a few "teeth" of the inner wall to align the rest of the upper to lower hull. These teeth will slide in between any fiber in the area. I've been switching back and forth between Tamiya Extra Thin and Model Master liquid (with the metal tube) on this build. The plastic Zvezda uses likes both glues. Since the MM is a bit thicker I'll use it on the teeth on the upper hull to glue them as it takes a little longer to evaporate.
  3. I just look at as one we may not have seen yet. I'm not going to spend the time and money in modding this to make it look like a screen seen ship.
  4. Thanks guys! Sorry for the lack of updates on this. The ship is finished except for the base. I haven't uploaded all the pictures yet showing the masks removed and final paint. I'll get that done tonight for you guys and post them up. I think it turned out rather nice myself. If you can get rid of the play features and at least give it a nice paint job, it really looks nice. I am suitably impressed with this Revell kit. And coming from me, that's high praise!
  5. Thanks Madhatter. I used .5mm on my Salzo Galactica which is a 3 foot model, for me, that's what I'll use on this. I think .75mm would be a bit too big. The hangars are molded to the lower hull. I think I'll just open up enough of a hole and install a few 3mm LEDs directly behind them. Maybe build a light box around the hangar on the inside.
  6. Thanks, yes, she's a big'n! Going to build the rest of the super structures tonight and work on the engine block. Getting those ready for lighting.
  7. Got all the trench pieces installed. There are some "bare" spots that will need some greeblies added to them. Again, love the way this kit is going together. I need to order .5mm fiber optic this week. I'll start on the other super structure assemblies today and then start drilling holes. Engines will need to be drilled out as well. Here are some new pics and where she sits now. Port side trench detail. The inside edges of the starboard side trench. You'll have to drill thru both to run fiber. Bare spots needing details. And the upper and lower hulls resting together.
  8. Your right, I hadn't noticed that! Compared to my Anigrand, the Ani seems short and stubby now. I like this one much better!
  9. Dude that sucks. Come to America, we don't have taxes like that, we just loose your stuff for a week!
  10. Started on the Big Z Sunday. Quality, fit, and finish are top notch. The sides of the super structures are separate detail panels applied to the hull. The edges are beveled resulting in excellent fit. The side trenches assemble the same way. They are also keyed so you can't put them in the wrong place or position. For me, I'll be building the major sub assemblies then drilling and running fiber. I'll then assemble the sub assemblies. My impression so far is excellent. I originally thought the Anigrand was better detailed, but with this being a plastic kit, the details are so much sharper. Given a choice between the two, I'd opt for the Zvezda. Assembly starts with adding the detail panels to the lower super structures. Then on to the trenches. Comparison of the lower hull with the new lights/sound Revell snap together.
  11. Pictures? I started mine yesterday. Here is a size comparison with the Revell lights and sound kit.
  12. Laid down some Duplicolor primer the other day. Stared the masking this morning. Once that is done I'll shoot it with flat white and remove the masks. Once that is dry I'll shoot it again with flat white to blend the grey panels in. Not screen accurate, just my own whimsy.
  13. Good news. My kit arrived last night/this morning at my local post office. Should come today!
  14. Well, I have filed a claim with the US Post Office for finding a lost package! My SD landed in NY on the 22nd and has not been tracked since, no movement out of NY, no new tracking info. The most it would have spent in NY would have been a couple hours before it was shipped out again. It has now been one full week with no movement. With the claim I filed hopefully the lost SD will be found, but at this point I'm holding very little hope. It may be gone for good. Screen grab from this morning. No movement!
  15. Since I stood the antenna up I needed to add some detail to the hole it left behind. I just used some styrene chips and stretched sprue to spruce it up a bit. Oh, and just a quick comparison between the F-Toys, Armada, and the Revell SD!
  16. Moving along. Added ANH/R1 style baffles to the engines. Looks pretty good. Six more to make. Not too shabby! And of course all lit up. Pretty!
  17. Wow, that's like $168! So much for those in the US getting it cheaper from ROG.
  18. Double Giggity!!!! Latest update from USPS Tracking- "Processed Through Facility ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS) December 22, 2016 1:45 am" It's in the States!!!!!
  19. Both of the vehicle model X and Y are 1/144. Bandai confirms this, at least for the X-wing, in the new Rogue 1 two pack, listing the scales on the box as 1/72 and 1/144.
  20. I Ordered mine and was told it was shipped on the 7th. I just got a tracking number on the 15th from USPS saying "We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece." I think that means it is ready to leave Russia and head to the states.
  21. Here is how I did the engines. For painting I'll just remove the clear insert.
  22. They had considered a stretched version at one point, called the "We-go". Thank you. I'll be here all week.
  23. Your welcome! If you have any questions, just let me know. Be glad to help anyway I can.
  24. Thanks for the comments guys. Here are some shots of the engines lit up. Of course I ditched the included electronics. The engines are lit with 5mm white LEDs mounted in the stock clear blue inserts. This is as far as I'm going with lighting this. I'll save the fiber optics for the Zvezda kit.
