  1. Very nice indeed Jaime, yes most moving parts, such as turrets, on naval vessels have boundary markings to keep crew clear of danger. Hawk Graphics do modern US Navy deck markings and you should be able to get them from AVR Models which I believe are near Barcelona.
  2. That's the thing with hobbies, they're what we do with our free time when we have some. Life has to come first! All the best!
  3. As Kev says, a dead prop dragging through the water would apply a torque to the dead shaft and create drag, to me it makes sense that if you have a dead prop then the ships speed drops so why make it even slower by leaving the prop on. I'd leave it off until someone says otherwise. It might also be worth asking in the wanted section to see if anyone has spare props left over from a waterline build. They're a decent lot here and plenty will help you. All my builds are full hull so I'm sorry that I cannot help. Unfortunately, you are going to have to post like crazy to meet the 100 post minimum for the buy/sell section! All the best, Kev
  4. Looking very tasty Sean. Trumpy Kirov next? Just reached the episode of Chandler and Texs rescue from Roskov. Even Mrs Jockster is enjoying it. It looks like they used one of the Iowa's for the Kirov closeups, anyone know which one?
  5. Sorry folks, Warren is no longer able to sign in and update this thread. If you want to catch up then this WIP continues on Brexitmodeller. He passes on his regards.
  6. Give it time WM, an answer will be along soon. I've been checking my own references but no mention of the propeller being removed but logic suggests yes. I'll keep looking.
  7. It's definitely growing on me Ken, like the lightbulb craft too!
  8. Following this one closely, I only found out about the new 1/144 version last week and have put in my birthday request with Mrs Jockster! Nice progress so far!
  9. Nice one Kev, saved that one to my bookmarks. Hopefully they can help me with a chasing LED circuit I need. Isn't Madmonk on here an electronics genius? I know one of the guys here sells lighting kits and I'm sure that it's Madmonk! Cheers Kev, Kev.
  10. The LED will need a resistor between it and the battery to prolong its life. Christmas is coming up, go to your nearest pound shop, there will be a variety of LED lighting sets which have a self contained battery/switch pack. Usually about 10 LEDs per set, you can bury the unused ones under the deck wrapped in tinfoil(they will light up but you just won't see them!). Cut the two battery wires, feed them through the bottom of the hull and resolder them together again. You will only need to paint the inside to prevent light bleed, A couple of coats of black should be enough, try and shine a lamp or hold it up to strong light to see if there are any bits that need extra coats. Silver is used more for reflecting the light around the inside, such as a space ship with lots of small Windows. I tend to use foil for this. There is a very informative thread right now in the vehicle discussion forum, have a look at that too.
  11. I must have missed your wip at the time but thoroughly enjoyed your back story, particularly the installation of sanitary facilities. Nice idea, nice wip, nice model! Proper job!
  12. Bob, you definitely have an eye for good looking ships, another joy to see!
  13. Nice to see something so different done so well. Lovely job!
  14. Very nice build indeed, particularly the rigging, I use the same Uni-Caenis and it's difficult enough to see let alone rig a ship with it! Well done!
  15. Very nicely done, what stands out the most for me is the subtlety of your pinwashing on the hull, lovely!
  16. Absolutely beautiful both of them, nice with the tallowed hulls too, I like coppered but the white looks so much brighter and cleaner!
  17. KP mate, I don't know what to say! You certainly wouldn't head aft for a sneaky cigarette, not unless you wanted a serious haircut! I think it needs outriggers!
  18. Lovely build Guy, I'll be another one using your ballbearing mask, excellent tip! Hunter decks have always turned out well for me, plus they usually have some anchor chain and a small fret of useful PE.
  19. I've never quite liked these, opting for the Freedom class Fort Worth, but do you know something? This is starting to grow on me, it just took your last picture there of the bow closeup! Nice work there Beefy!
  20. What machine is it mate? I've been looking around but haven't found it, looks quite stable!
  21. Blimey Frank, I have never seen a woody built so well so quickly!
