  1. So you and common sense are pretty much strangers, eh?
  2. Come on, really??? Seriously??? I am not discouraging the asking of a valid question, but I am questioning the validity of THIS specific question as posed in this thread. Really, there just comes a point where common sense should kick in and this thread demonstrates it. Stop micro managing of the hobby, PLEASE!!! Just as one will burn a music CD without giving it a second thought, this is no different. The music police will not come and kick your door down and haul you off, neither will the plastic enforcers come after you for doing a similar thing when it comes to the hobby - so long as it is for your OWN PERSONAL USE (that's the common sense part for those who may have missed it).
  3. Seriously??? Aren't we overthinking this whole question? It seems, no matter the hobby forum, someone will inevitably ask this question. And it rears it's head time and time again and most likely will again (and again) in the future. Here's a thought, how about using a little common sense? Trust me, it will go a VERY long way. If you want to make a copy of something (decals, kit part, whatever) for your own use and have the skills to do so, just do it. No need to broadcast it or ask on a hobby forum if you will go to modeler's hell for doing so. Just keep your yap shut and do it. What you do behind closed doors to better enjoy your modeling experience is your business and no one else's. Just don't make it your business to rip off other businesses by selling what you've just copied. These mind numbing discussions are absolutely ridiculous and foolish. This only becomes an issue when you chose to make it one by posing the question in a setting such as this. Again, can we please just exercise a little common sense and get on with modeling??? KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid
  4. Mini World already does offers packs of 10 for the .50 cal
  5. If you are still looking, may I suggest contacting your Tamiya Distributer. You can order the sprue that contains the prop from their F-51 Mustang kit. The part number is 799-0606151, sprue is #C. I paid $4 plus postage, Canadian (Borgfeldt is the Canadian Distributer, you will need to see who yours is). An inexpensive option, especially if you require several. Bonus is you get extra bits for your spares box. I've purchased several other Tamiya sprues as well for other project, all equally inexpensive and giving me lots of options for various projects. HTH.
  6. B-17 guy is quite correct, CMA wants $36 for 1/48 of this sheet and $22.50 for the 1/72 - you need to check your glasses and read that again Jonny. As far as I am concerned CanMilAir decals are over priced and not worth his asking price. I've also read complaints as to the quality, in particular when it comes to more complex shapes and curves. He does not take into account the 3D shape of an aircraft and only designs his decals on a 2D plain. If brewerjerry is right, I'd sooner hold off and see if Airfix does indeed give us those markings in a future release - would be well worth the wait.
  7. I checked out the link in this post and when I tried to close the page, I was spammed with numerous pop ups and had a bitch of a time trying to close IE. Be warned.
  8. Currently sitting at almost $90 Cdn Chris I am sure the seller would be willing to ship it to you if you want to beat that bid.
  9. Let's try £1000 and reserve now met... too crazy for me. Some people have more money than brains it would seem.
  10. Thanks for the link Lee, greatly appreciated!
  11. Yes, please, I'd be interested as well! Thank you.
  12. A good review indeed, but why anyone would want the Hasegawa kit when they can have the ESCI (now Italeri kit) is beyond me. Take into account the nose issue and we will not even discuss the cost of this kit, I think it is a no brainer to run with the ESCI/Italeri offering, IMHO.
  13. I have the Pavla set and intend to use it with my ESCI (now released by Italeri), kits. I can't speak to if it will be too wide for the Hasegawa kit, but even if it is, I would suspect that a little sanding of the cockpit tub sidewalls and possibly the cockpit area within the Hasegawa fuselage would solve that issue. I don't think that we will see a set specific to the Hasegawa kit anytime soon, sadly.
  14. David, Sorry if I hit a nerve on the roundel mistake with your Voodoo sheet, that was certainly not my intention. I just made a point of mentioning it, in case someone unknowingly intended to use it before you were able to get your correction sheet out. In fact, I have your that Voodoo sheet and think it is great. I applaud you for doing the Alouette Voodoo in particular - something that has been a long time in coming. I am looking forward to your future releases. Keep 'em comin'!
  15. Thanks for the explanation Tony. I had completely forgotten about the Flight Colors decals as well. Between all of us here, I think we have covered the gambit of RCAF / CAF Voodoo decal sheets!
  16. If I can add to what Scott has already said, Microscale (aka SuperScale), also did a sheet for the Voodoo (getting to be a hard find these days): As did Almark (2 RCAF schemes, one with a lobster for the airbrakes and sorry, I do not recall the story behind that): and finally, Belcher Bits did a sheet for the Canadian Voodoo, it also featured the all back Voodoo: The one thing with the Canuck sheet is that on the all black Voodoo, he made a mistake and left the white background in the Canadian roundel, it should not be there (he will be issuing a correction to that). Microscale and Belcher Bits got it correct. HTH.
  17. Heres one from another forum. Looks pretty darn good to my eyes!
  18. I picked up the Hobbycraft release of the G-12 (which was the Intech kit). I salvaged the fuselage portion and tossed the other bits. Mind you, I did keep the decals as they looked fairly decent. I found a Hi-Tech conversion set (resin cockpit and vac form canopy) to use for the project. I figure I will use a Fine Molds 109 as a doner kit.
  19. "Due soon" and Leading Edge Models should not be used in the same sentence... as it could and usually means still several months away... Don't get me wrong, I love Leading Edge Models' decals, I have known Dave for many years (pretty much since day one when he launched Leading Edge) and have sat a tilted a glass with him from time to time when I've been to Calgary. His work is impeccable, but if he has a fault, it's not keeping release dates. After waiting for what seemed an eternity, I finally picked up his latest 1/72 F-86 and T-33 sheet. I am keeping my fingers crossed for this new CF-18 sheet as I would like to add it to my 'to do' list of the collection - just love that tail art.
  20. That's an awful lot of F-4s... and I thought I was bad with my Me.109 collection! lol
  21. Taking a guess here, but I would think the same metallic color as the wheel wells. I say this based on looking at these photos. The original post is from the 72nd Aircraft forum. Although there are no pics of the inside of the cowling, if you look at the close ups of the engine, particularly at the bottom by the air intake, you can see the same metallic color as used elsewhere on the aircraft. As I said, it's a guess on my part. HTH.
  22. Super scale (Microscale) and Aeromaster did some generic Luftwaffe markings years back and they still show up on eBay. Might be one source for you.
