  1. I saw a DeLorean in Chesham (Bucks) yesterday - my first real one ( i.e. Not on film) ever ....only taken about 30+ years....
  2. That does look good - put it a more neutral setting for the pic and you could be persuaded it was a real one !
  3. A direct question to anyone who knows,or has built, this kit. (Roy??) Just got an email from Wonderland saying it is now in stock at 80-odd quid. Is it a good kit, or too much trouble for the price? Thanks in advance. Richard
  4. Airfix Ford GT ? http://www.airfix.com/uk-en/ford-3-litre-gt.html
  5. I agree, in general the quality of the final result is hugely influenced by the lens - both its manufacturing quality and its technical specification. For the camera body itself I would suggest the most important factors are A/ focus speed B/ low light performance (maybe not an issue for plane shots) C/ other logistical, issues such has handling, ease of acces to buttons and common features , battery life etc Also recommend going 2nd hand to start especially if as you say, you don't know much about cameras- do you intend to learn....if so an SLR is the way forward;but if not maybe not... I myself use a Canon 650d SLR with a variety of lenses including - huge canon 100-400 zoom (which cost around 4x the price of the body) - but despite that I frequently fall back on my pocket Panasonic TZ70 which is a tiny travel camera, with massive zoom range, loads of 'effects', can be operated thru wifi remotely by a phone, and frequently just gives better results, As the man says, you pays your money and take your choice....
  6. Not really a tank fan but I do recall a great visit there approx 15 years ago. Your pics too are fab.
  7. that 312T4, the Lotus 79 (but rear looks slightly different) and the FW06 are all drop dead gorgeous.
  8. beautiful - I love the p3/p4's. weathering truly excellent. is that an OOTB build ? or any add-on parts/detailing?
  9. Now THAT is one hell of a plot line isn't it ? They don't make 'em like that anymore. (sigh)
  10. agreed those Lotus 88s were beautiful cars and its great that there's a kit available.... but have you seen the prices ? Over 60quid. that's getting into Tamiya 1/12 F1 price bracket -yet these are only 1/20 kits
  11. my apologies too. I searched in Chat and Aircraft but didn't see anything on it - so created a 3rd topic.
  12. ah...but it's no longer rumour . perhaps move it to somewhere else now they've gone public with it?
  13. ok couldn't see that other thread. happy for this one to be close/merged then
  14. a bit surprised that nobody has started a thread on this yet it was launched today. looks slightly similar to the Revell wish list, albeit with Airfix folk actually on the forum responding to questions etc. at the moment s there's only a couple of birds to vote on, but it looks as though that'll change in days/weeks to come my favourite is the SRN1 hovercraft, and the Saunders Roe SR53, and the ....and the.... (goes on forever)
  15. or sub divide the for sale section to include specific folders for cars etc, to keep all in the one area as the mods have asked for?? - just another idea macgregor...I DO have a Revell 1/12 F40, but not sure I want to part with it yet. I've agreed with the wife to 'audit' and maybe shrink the stash over this coming summer, so I will keep your details to hand in case I change my mind.
  16. thanks for this topic OP and the responses by CedB; I'd had exactly the same question so am please to see it answered so clearly. Can't think why they don't put some instructions etc on the bottles....
  17. Roy I think that's a great idea. I not totally clear how you would do it (does one person have to administer it?) - but I would certainly use it to look up past threads and generally to see what's available (Even if I wasn't searching for a specific topic/model)
  18. Lovely pics- and it's looks like great weather too. Skoda rally car looks fab I've only ever made it to Prague but have some work colleagues in Brno, and would love to go there one day.
  19. Smackers - where did you get those Heller kits - esp the Alfasud. I used to have a real one (loved it!) and am continually searching for models of it. or would you want to see yours ? I've just bought a lovely 1:18 resin KK model of one - but that's going off topic a little.....
  20. suggest you repost this in the chat/ travel section- you might have more luck there... I would have thought that as many kits are made in PRC that you wouldn't have too much trouble finding something... having said that I once had a relatively fruitless search for Tamiya F1 kits in the middle of Tokyo !
  21. Only to echo everyone else's comments - fantastic brush painting and a two great models to start off with.... Sanding of the seams on the tyres can be done easily. The other point of note is your excellent tyre-logo lettering - I often fail on that - and the quality especially on those tiny front tyres of the P34 is exceptional. (so how did you do it exactly?)
  22. that's lovely. I see what you mean about the headlights - that's a shame. otherwise looks perfect and ready to drive off in;I don't think a rally car would be showroom gloss-red so I'd say yours is about right I have one and was actually planning to start it soon, so it may appear here sometime in 2015 (but don't hold your breath, I'm slow)
  23. they go for about 40 pounds and some shops still have stock - even my local shop where I've seen it on the shelf last weekend. Google also shows other uk shops are still selling it too. HTH
