  1. I have a sheet from the Hasegawa 1/24 kit. Interested? I can send photos etc by PM.
  2. Nice to have you back Roy ! (You gave me some 1/12 GT40 decals a few years back) lovely models - were they in your stash already? I’m on the lookout for Entex kits (on EBay) but never come across any.
  3. Fantastic woodworking Of a great subject, Would love to know a little of where you start, and the process in general. I would assume it is all chisels and sandpaper.?
  4. Agreed Russian. People saying Su-25 and Su-30. but then again, a lot of people thought they were the Red Arrows (despite them not being red colour, and there being far too many of them- and two different plane types)
  5. Never mind the modelling, I’m really enjoying the quality of your writing. Very entertaining and nicely balanced humour with the sense of frustration. Did you write professionally at all? PS - Model and workmanship looks fab from here 😀, what a shame kits like this (and of this scale) are rarely (if at all?) made any more.
  6. Greetings Stef. I’m also in Herts, over the left hand side in Berkhamsted. There’s a few local-ish folk here... I make mainly road and F1 cars...and a couple of big planes.
  7. Bienvenue! What town/village in Northern Brittany? I cycled all over it when I was 16 years old (many many years ago) - and it still one of my favourite parts of France for visiting/holidays. And my daughter is currently studying at University/ENSAI in Bruz/Rennes. I mostly make F1 and Cars....plus a few 72 or 48 WW2 planes, but am sometimes tempted by a large ship.
  8. Can’t fault that at all ! - fantastic details, especially the rear view shots with the cowling off. ..and “the dog ate my F1 car” is certainly a new and very original explanation.🤣
  9. Gorgeous, in some of those pics it looks real! and a brave move in masking the white stripe, but yes it came out fantastic (I assume you wanted to avoid any red bleed-through)
  10. As others have said, superb photography and a fantastic and very creative setup. And I don’t need to go into how fabulous that build is.....
  11. Unfortunately, the only SAAB I have in my stash ( > 250 kits!) is a Viggen. The other 249 kits are cars.....
  12. Thanks Andy - most helpful re the LP paints, I’ve not bought any for a while but will have to look out for these (and the thinner)
  13. Nice kit, I also made one - took me 5 (!) years. But your is far better. Tamiya LP paints - are these the Tamiya spray lacquer paints?
  14. Boujour et bienvenue. I wont inflict my schoolboy French on you, as your written English looks just fine to me! look forward to reading your thread(s) - I hope you enjoy it here. I visit Rennes occasionally, as my daughter is at University there. Richard
  15. Welcome from another local bod - near Berkhamsted (the Hemel one, not the Hatfield/WGC one)
  16. Prior to seeing this post, i just made a new post elsewhere that Italeri have just re-released this kit. Love what you've done with the rescue - i started this model maybe 40 years ago, but it got the better of me and I never got it finished.
  17. Hello all, I've just seen this kit announced as an Italeri boxing. Does anyone know if this is actually the Tamiya kit (do Tamiya license their kits?), or what the history of this kit is? (Scalemates doesn't have any info) Edit#2 - just rechecked Scalemates at bit deeper, and it seems this IS the ex-Tamiya yet. I never knew Tamiya did this.....
  18. I've just been to the Polish Air Museum today- a fabulous place full of Migs and Sukhoi's and all 'those' planes we were warned of as kids, or were the enemy in an Airix Dogfight Double kit (Mirage vs Mig-15 anyone?). Being refurbished for the better(new exhibition hall) but well worth a visit.
  19. Lovely model, in a more natural setting it could even be the real thing ! A shame that the real car itself was so poor though..
  20. A very nice and clean looking build, excellent attention to detail (eg engine block, dashboard). It looks to be out-of-the-box, or did you add anything extra (apart from the replacement decals)?
  21. You can sometime also obtain a PhotoEtch stencil for Goodyear, which you hold against the tyre and paint thru (removing the need for decals altogether). I haven’t seen them listed for a while, but there might be an old one out there somewhere. edit. Hiroboy have some, but depends on the era which you need.
  22. Stunning, and - as per your Golf gti- fantastic photography too.
  23. Very nice. I had a real GTi Mk2, and yours (especially the first photo) does look very convincing and realistic. If I may make a minor criticism, the only detail that doesn’t look to scale is the front number plate, it seems too big. Perhaps if possible take off some of the surplus white border around it?
  24. 🎉 Hooray ! I’m not yet confident I’ll do mine justice, but maybe later in 2019 we can have an unofficial mini group build to compare each of our results
  25. Thanks to both of you for clarifying, much appreciated.
