The first one is fascinating, as I'm working in the aviation industry, and its very interesting to see how things changed on the production lines, and still, the basics are the same. The second one shows one main reason of my search, as I was wandering if this plane received an O.D. overcoat on the D-Day stripes, or were they removed by some thinner/solvent/fuel, which resulted some interesting weathering challenges.

Hi Britmodellers, I'm looking for information and pictures of the B-26B flown by the 387th B.G. in 1945 named Hamilton Hey Maker II. Her serial was 42-96205, coded KX-N in the inventory of 387th BG/ 558th BS. There's a Kit's World decal sheet with her markings, and I want to portray this aircraft at the end of her career in 1945. All I found so far is a color profile in the Osprey book "B-26 Units of the Eighth and Ninth Air Forces" by Jerry Scutts, so I'm pretty much stucked with my research here. The plane was in the inventory of the 397th BG before transferred to 387th. If someone has a photo of this plane, or any idea of the original source where I can find it (books, websites, etc), and share the information with me, I would be more than happy! 😀

Just received a sample of the 1:72 Uhu wheel set, and it's amazing! 👍 It comes with a sheet of pre-cut painting masks, and fits the Dragon kit perfectly. Available here. A new JAS-39 Gripen wheel set also available now in the Rescue Models webshop.

No, I'm not the manufacturer. These are my friend's products, I just like them. I think his stuff worth a look. Sorry Anthony, no exact release date for the 1:32 P-40 intake so far (as I know). The producer of these items is Mr Robert Racz, you can contact him personally through his Facebook, or through the Rescuemodels website (now operational).

The 1:72 Mosquito wheels are in the plans, and the 1:32 scale P-40 intake too, but -as I know-, no exact release date yet.

I'm afraid a wipe with 400 grit sandpaper will destroy all the fine details, and the smooth surfaces of the resin part. I just received a test casting of the intake from the manufacturer, and the "rivets" (actually panhead screws on the real aircraft) are very subtle. My opinion as I'm holding this part in my hand right now is that: the real question is how to preserve the fine details during painting. I will try to take some photos of the actual part with a better camera, my phone just failed to do the task properly. Cheers, Peter

Hi stakor, Thank you for your help! I found your picture too, but I'm not sure this helicopter is the same "yellow 31" or not. The camouflage pattern is different, as you mentioned. The pattern on the Mi-8's color side view exists, but very rare, maybe two or three from approx 50-60 pictures of Mi-8's during the war. But still exists after the Afghan war, I found a picture of a Mi-24 with this very same wide band pattern. Maybe a repair facility used it, most of the Mi-8's and -24's wore the factory applied-more sophisticated- pattern. I have a picture of the nose left hand, so the plane itself existed. I found this version of the squadron insignia, but on a Mi-24, it's in the book you mentioned about markings of the Soviet VVS inthe Afghan campaign. Andrey kindly answered my question, but unfortunately he has no photo of this Mi-8MT. About the Mi-24P I found nothing. I have pictures of three or four versions of the squadron insignia found on the internet, all of them on Mi-24, but these are not even close to the one on the color side view. I asked Linden Hill, maybe they have more info... I don't know if anyone have contact info of Viktor Markovsky, he's the writer of the original book with the color side views (Hot Sky of Afghanistan, Technika Molodjezhi, 2000),maybe he can help. Hi All, I want to build two helicopters in 1:72 scale, one is the Hobbyboss Mi-8/17, the other is the future release Mi-24P from Zvezda. Both of them will be in the markings of the 262 OVE, Soviet Army Aviation, during 1988, at Bagram, Afghanistan. I have two decal sets (linden Hill for the Mi-24 and Begemot for the Mi-8). During search for pictures of the original helicopters, it seems it's very hard to find any. I've searched all my books and magazines, checked many sources on the Internet, but no success so far. I wrote an e-mail to Begemot, but no answer yet. So, can anyone of you please advise me any source of info or pictures on these particular planes? Thank You in advance, Peter

Hi All, I searched the net for Seafire FR. 47 walkaround photographs, or any other pictures showing details of this beauty, but I found nearly nothing (Yes, I tried Google.) As I know there's an airworthy example somwhere, but not sure. Can You please advise me, where can I find detail photos of the Seafire FR. 47 on the Internet?
