  1. Absolutely brilliant....i also thought the 1st photo was the model.....I am going to ask as so many others have - How on earth did you do that drag chute, it looks so real......
  2. Nice kit, would like to build one eventually. I have actually built the 1/24 scale stang and painted the body in matt black which looks great.
  3. A Royal Navy Phantom would be of interest to me even though I'm taking a break from modelling.
  4. going AWOL for a while...... gotta focus on other things for a while.....

Spookie, must be something in the water.

  5. Hi Paul, Your doing a great job with this build. I can't believe how far you have got in a very short time. I have to admit that I was dreading seeing you put the belly plate on and seeing gaps in the fuselage (plus other areas). I haven't progressed beyond where I got to on Sunday. I might go and do some work tonight. Cheers, Rick
  6. Thanks Batcode.I'll have a look at the kit. Cheers, Rick
  7. Does anyone know if there is a model of a B-24d Liberator available along with decals of a plane called 'Superman' that doesn't cost the earth to buy? The reason I ask is that this is the plane flown by Louis Zamperini....whose life and WW2 story are told in the Angelina Jolie film Unbroken. I have read the book and would love to build a kit of this plane.
  8. Damn this thing is simply gorgeous and must be HUUUUGGGGEEEEE. I do love a B-17. Nice job.
  9. That jig is a very clever idea Nice job on the build.
  10. Thanks Breaker, I will look at that part when I get some more work done on it and do some more test fitting. Cheers, Rick
  11. She is a beautiful aircraft. I have been lucky to see her almost every year since her first flight after restoration. I am going to miss seeing her in the sky. Thanks for sharing the photos.
  12. Hi Everyone, Stages 1 - 16 are painted and prepped. I have also drilled the cabin floor to take the rear seats. I will post photos as soon as the stages are assembled. Rick
  13. Hi Everyone, I have tested the fit of the cabin in the fuselage halves and like Breaker said it is a really tight fit,but the cabin fits snugly in place. Rick
  14. Hi Paul, Glad to hear you have made a start. I have spent about 2 hours on each day of the weekend on this build. I'm definitely not rushing this build. Cheers, Rick
  15. Cheers Simon, I will do that as soon as I do some more work on the kit. Rick
  16. Kit ready for work to commerce after a soak in the sink to make sure paint takes properly.
  17. Haven't built one myself, but definately like this idea. Give it a big bomb bay (anti-radar missiles, LGB's, nukes), camera bays for reconnaissance/bomb damage assessment, canards for extra manoeuvrability (?). Just a few ideas that I had when I saw your post. Cheers, Rick
  18. Hi Everyone, Here are the build photos of the 1st 20 stages. I have noticed that there are a number areas that need some touch up painting (which I thought I had already taken care of but some escaped my radar)..... I am really enjoying this build so far, so much that I have actually got my Lynx AH-7 kit out and given it a wash before starting the prep work on that kit. Anyway here we go. Stage 1BC - drilling of cabin floor for rear cabin seats Stage 1C - drilling of cabin floor for version C components Stage 2A Stage 3A Stage 4 Stage 5 Stage 6 Stage 7 Stage 8 Stage 9 Stage 10 Stage 11 Stage 12 Stage 13 Stage 14 Stage 15 Stage 16 Stage 17 Stage 18 Stage 19 Stage 20 Anyway I will post more photos as I get some more progress. Excuse all of the areas need touching up, I promise they will be addressed. Cheers, Rick
  19. well at this rate I will be splitting my time between 5 models, 2 Lynx, 1 Airwolf and 2 Ferraris.....

  20. Stages 1-20 are complete. Lots of photos taken. So far it is going together very well (2 parts of the kit were simply pushed into position rather than glued).
  21. Looks very nice, I've always liked this design. I think I'm going to have to get back into ship building myself. I wanna build this and the Freedom variant of the LCS along with other US Navy warships. But I will start with some battleships once my latest crop of builds are all done. Keep up the good work.
  22. I will be starting on this kit this afternoon as soon as I have done the first assembly work on the HMA.8.
  23. Well after spending quite a bit of time last night drilling, prepping and painting I have got stages 1 - 20 ready for building. Photos later
