  1. What SHOULD they be called then? You can't just throw that down & not follow through with an answer!🥴
  2. Shame. I DID get mine to fit but had to cut down the part that is hidden inside the fuselage considerably. Doesn't show unless you look up them!
  3. I remember the Hasegawa G from the 80s when it came out & loved it but haven't built one since. Tbh I'm waiting for the ZM kit that should be out soon. It costs a mint but I'm hoping that it'll correct some of the faults of & provide more detail that the old Hasegawa kit.
  4. That cockpit is superb! Better than mine (building the Kinetic CF-5 at the moment).
  5. I have to be honest, "Vigorous Dragon" sounds like a"knock-off" impotence treatment that you'd pick up in a Thai market!
  6. Great work so far - having been through the trials of fitting the Aires cockpit in mine a couple of months back I sympathise. HOWEVER, have you tried fitting the exhaust cans yet? Here's a hint………..thy don't!
  7. It MAY come to that but there is some detail to add too. Plus I believe it's part of the front whhel bay so possible structural!
  8. So thought I'd make a start on the Vulcan. Lets see, step 1, first part C1……..oh! I hope Airfix are up to scratch with replacements. Not encouraging when the auto-response claims that they have "had a busy start to the year" (it's AUGUST!) "& Have had COVID disruptions". How long can companies continue blaming COVID?.
  9. Filing this process under "too bloody complicated"! Yes it's in my backorders, yes I had an email, yes changed my payment method to paypal, yes tried moving it from backorder to basket but no can do, yes one shown in stock but no way of adding THAT to my basket. Cancelled on Hannants & ordered from Jadlam! (£69.95 inc. postage). 🙂
  10. Not that I'm paranoid or anything but has anybody received the Airfix Bucc from Hannants. It's been on back order by me for months (receiving a 10% discount) but I've heard zilch from them since its release. Yes I HAVE tried calling them but can't get through.
  11. You're correct it is a bit of the dog but you've done a superb job!
  12. Lovely job! I built this kit when it came out & recall it being very nice & surprisingly large!
  13. Nice result. I won't buy another Kittyhawk kit either after I built their Recon Voodoo a while back. Crude, lacking detail, poor instructions, bad fit, atrocious decals……...
  14. Well it's in! Maybe some awkward filling around the front of the windscreen but I'm optimistic that most of the gap will be covered by the part! I might pop a small piece of plasticard behind it before I join everything up so I can lob a bit of filler in there. And it does sit straighter than the photo suggests!
  15. Limited success but I've put it aside for today as it's driving me nuts! Mark V, I looked at the genesis videos which had some useful info but I was secretly laughing my @rse off watching him trimming & sanding, sanding & trimming, knowing that he obviously hadn't considered the nose wheel bay! Perhaps the Aires bay fits better with their cockpit than the kit part I'm using? Both the roof of that & the cockpit floor are absolutely tissue thin.
  16. Thanks for the replies. Off to try that NOW!!
  17. What the heck am I missing here?! Hasegawa Phantom FG1 into which I'm TRYING to squeeze an Aires cockpit. I've thinned the bottom of the resin tub AND the roof of the plastic nose gear bay as much as I dare & it STILL doesn't fit. Yes, the kit comming comes off to accept a resin part & since I took the photos I have done it on the post side but the fit is still absolutely appalling! As the kit is pretty rare I'm reluctant to cut the plastic about anymore so may cherry pick from the resin & use the kit tub - unless someone can sure me that it DOES fit & what I need to do!
  18. Some sources say it was to prevent confusion with the Me262. Who, even in the heat of combat, could mistake this pedestrian design for the sleek 262?!i. Personally I think the ground camo theory is the best. TBH this was the primary purpose behind camo anyway!
