Guaranteed to blow you mind, anytime"!
Base kit is the Hasegawa AV8B Night Attack (from which I'd already robbed out the 100% LERX for my GR7). Conversion is the Heritage Aviation set. Instructions are "basic" to say the least with extremely poor drawings that could be of just about ANYTHING. The front fuselage is split in two as per normal with a tub & instrument panels. Some etched HUD's would have been nice here. The rear panel went in fine but the front is problematic, down mainly to the very complicated method of casting on it's block making it very hard to remove & trim whilst retaining it's correct shape. I foresee problems fitting it correctly. Also see problems with the canopy fit (one piece vacformed), you can just make out in the first shot the two plasticard shims I've added where the windscreen will fit. There are also issues with that rear cockit fairing which doesn't sit right & is also "skewed out of line - maybe me but I don't think so. LERX section is such a bad fit that I was sure I'd messed up but again, I don't see how. Tons of filler around here with gaps on the underside that are impossible to treat with milliput so I'm hoping a bit of PVA will do the trick.

Yesterday? You got this yesterday?.....

That's a nice job. I've built the CA kit which is also pretty good but I've got this one in the to do pile. That Pavla seat looks pretty decent.
-
Do you Canberra experts know of any significant differences between this and the B2 / B62? I'd like to build the latter - possible with this forthcoming kit - ?
Thanks
AFAIK, the B62 for Argentina were refurbished RAF B2's.

I went through an armour buiulding stage a few years back. If you can afford them, the Accurate Armour resin kits of Brit armour are superb. I once built their 1/35 Scammell Commander with trailer & slung a Tamiya Challenger on the back - that's one impressive (& expensive!) model (the kit even includes a pair scale of etched metal heavy duty gloves!)

Nice work Marcus (I live in Stortford, about 2 miles from the airport!).
-
Nice work, love the "GT" Canberra!!!
-
You're welcome. Build an RAF Jug, after al this is Britmodeller!
-
If it come down to it boys and the F-35 is delayed then I'm sure NZ will lease you some Skyhawks until they finally arrive
No thanks, nothing that smells of moth balls.

Tamiya 1/48 F16CJ or P47, real "shake'n'bake" kits!
-
I, agog & want to see more!

Well it's the "wrong type" of Jaguar
but a beautiful, stunning job - same colour as my 1:1 MGB GT (by the way, can you fix the spokes on my spare wheel?!) -
This crops up regularly on ebay & I keep letting it go. May grab one on the strength of this, looks rather nice!

I use the Xtracolour (enamel) Dark Camouflage Grey/Dary Sea Grey on my RAF Harrier/jaguar & Tornado, they look OK to my eyes.

Labour won't be happy until the Navy consists of one Admiral of the Fleet, a rowboat and 2 swabbies to paddle him around the Serpentine in Hyde Park as a tourist attraction!
The Army will be reduced to a couple blokes in Bearskins for photos outside Buckingham Palace and the Air Force will have an Air Commodore with a rubber band powered model plane and an Aircraftsman to run and pick it up for him, and wind it up for it's next sortie.

I don't think it's all Labour's fault. The last Conservative government instigated sweeping cuts under the "options for Change" post cold war review. Despite this I believe that with something like £33bn, the UK is still the second largest spender on defence in monetrary terms. As a proportion of GDP, we spend as much as France & more then Germany - the most suitable comparisons. Problem is that unlike these two nations, we are currently fighting two "small wars".
Look back in history as far as Wellington & Nelson during the Napolionic Wars, no British Government has EVER been keen on large expenditure on defence. We've been caught with our trousers down several times as a result. The opinion of the "man on the Clapham omnibus" is often that defence spending is a waste of resources, however, as long a the UK has a largely "home based" defence industry (& BAE Systems for instance is the largest defence contractor in the world outside the USA), the benefits to UK Ltd are significant through wages to those building the ships/aircaft/tanks etc., to the companies with full order books & ultimatly the exchequer through income tax & corporation tax from profitable defence companies. Ho hum!

Isn't that Pablo Mason?!?!!?
With that 'tach? Could easily be! Or is it Freddie Mercury?

My favourite: "The Whistling Tit" or "Whistling Wheelbarrow"
That's the AW Argosy.

Nice work, bet you had fun masking for the topside camo! Now if the missus was compaining about getting the hall plastered, what's she going to say when you stick this little beauty on top of the telly?

Hi All
Who can provide me the name of a model paint branch for ARTF light grey to finish one of my Canberra PR-9s.
Can anyone help with more details on Canberra modifications for trial purposes.
Kind Regards
Edmundo
Canberras modified for trials purposes? Hundreds of them! Can you be more specific about a particular version or is it just the PR9 you're looking at. There are quite a few good books about such as that from Crowood Aviation "The EE Canberra & Martin B57" that contaim such details. Another is the "EE Canberra, the History & Development of a Classic Jet" by Bruce Barrymore Halpenny, although I have reason to doubt all the facts contained in this one. They are good starting points. In addition, I'm sure the Canberra is well covered on the web so a Google will turn up a ton of references. Good luck!

This will look nice with the "forthcoming" Trumpeter 1/32 RAF modern jets!

Seems that all those who complained that Hasegawa had the fuselage all wrong on their 1/48 Mk IX were right!
-
Their metalcote stuff has really gone downhill, it is impossible to brush apply, matt black that's like tar from day one, got a tin of their clear green that I use for nav lights & it is basically sludge. I have ecountered similar variable quality with Xtracolour.
-
British cockpits of the period were indeed basically black. Some modellers prefer a very dark grey though.
