  1. Ah well, there you go you see, that's why they no longer provide the spring. Something like that could have someone's eye out!
  2. Wow nice work on an unusual & rare subject. IIRC (from when my elder brother built this in the 60's), the rocket pods were "spring loaded" to enable the rockets to be fired. Still the case?
  3. Two things as matters progress: firstly, I found that the pilots instrument panel & combing fro the Hasegawa base kit are an excellant fit in place of the item supplied in the Heritage Aviation set so I'm using these. Secondly, the pylons that are unique to the GR5/7/T10/12 & fit on the outrigger farings seem to be "short shot"; the front ends are there but there's no rear. They don't look to have broken but they certainly ain't right! Does anyone perhaps have these parts from the Hasegawa GR5/7 which they won't be using?
  4. Wow, I remember thowing that kit together when I was a kid. Don't recall doing all this though!
  5. For the 2 x greys scheme you want Dark Camouflage Grey & Dark Sea Grey. Can't recall the Xtracolour nos. but they are available "by name". As regards decals, I'm sure that 617 squadron would be available in either the Xtradecal or Model Alliance ranges. Search Hannants website.
  6. Nice pics. I love shots of Warton as they show residential properties, peoples sheds etc. right up near the runway!
  7. Just received this as an ebay purchase & very nice it looks too. As many will know, it's the old Heller kit but with a wealth of coloured etched enhancements, plus an extremely nice pair of resin seats & decals for 4 x FAF machines (2 x D, 2 x N) . However, my knowledge of contempoary French AF colours is sketchy to say the least. Can anyone give me a match for the grey/green camo colours & the cockpit interior (preferably in Xtracolour), plus wheel bay/undercarriage colours?. This'll look good along side my Eduard Mirage III. Now to look out for the "C" version & just maybe, finsh off the last Heller Mirage kit I started (Mirage IV with Neomega 'pit).
  8. Looks beautiful, but it's the "wrong" scale. I love their 1/32 Hunter & this looks similar in quality but I really wish they'd do a 1/48 kit. I've built so many Academy Hunters with more to do but I'm sick of all the hacking required to get a good result with that kit! I know, I know.....
  9. I think confusion my have arisen due to confusion with the colours of the pilot's names. I'm sure I read somewhere that these were initially white but changed later to red. Of course, I can't find that reference now..........!
  10. I'm going to be watching this with interest. Good luck!
  11. This may help Shaun. http://www.primeportal.net/hangar/mario_be...ndex.php?Page=1
  12. Guaranteed to blow you mind, anytime"! Base kit is the Hasegawa AV8B Night Attack (from which I'd already robbed out the 100% LERX for my GR7). Conversion is the Heritage Aviation set. Instructions are "basic" to say the least with extremely poor drawings that could be of just about ANYTHING. The front fuselage is split in two as per normal with a tub & instrument panels. Some etched HUD's would have been nice here. The rear panel went in fine but the front is problematic, down mainly to the very complicated method of casting on it's block making it very hard to remove & trim whilst retaining it's correct shape. I foresee problems fitting it correctly. Also see problems with the canopy fit (one piece vacformed), you can just make out in the first shot the two plasticard shims I've added where the windscreen will fit. There are also issues with that rear cockit fairing which doesn't sit right & is also "skewed out of line - maybe me but I don't think so. LERX section is such a bad fit that I was sure I'd messed up but again, I don't see how. Tons of filler around here with gaps on the underside that are impossible to treat with milliput so I'm hoping a bit of PVA will do the trick.
  13. Yesterday? You got this yesterday?.....
  14. That's a nice job. I've built the CA kit which is also pretty good but I've got this one in the to do pile. That Pavla seat looks pretty decent.
  15. AFAIK, the B62 for Argentina were refurbished RAF B2's.
  16. I went through an armour buiulding stage a few years back. If you can afford them, the Accurate Armour resin kits of Brit armour are superb. I once built their 1/35 Scammell Commander with trailer & slung a Tamiya Challenger on the back - that's one impressive (& expensive!) model (the kit even includes a pair scale of etched metal heavy duty gloves!)
  17. Nice work Marcus (I live in Stortford, about 2 miles from the airport!).
  18. Nice work, love the "GT" Canberra!!!
  19. You're welcome. Build an RAF Jug, after al this is Britmodeller!
  20. No thanks, nothing that smells of moth balls.
  21. Well it's the "wrong type" of Jaguar but a beautiful, stunning job - same colour as my 1:1 MGB GT (by the way, can you fix the spokes on my spare wheel?!)
