  1. Wow! Tbh I've always wanted to build one of these properly (I did knock one together many years ago when I was a kid!) but have always been put off by the lack of cockpit/seat detail (I'm no scratchbuilder sadly). The kit has been around for a long time so it's surprising that no one has stepped up with some detail/improvemnt sets.
  2. This is a great kit but not the easiest to put together. Mind you, the Kinetic Mirages, one of which I'm building at the moment, are far from a walk in the park either!
  3. Lovely job. I LOVE this model & you've done a great job plus added some interesting (& scary) information!
  4. Can't find a 3 view that shows the spinners projecting beyond the nose on the B/FB Mossies, at least with the single stage Merlins.
  5. Beautiful. Just got mine & will be very happy if it turns out like yours. Also happy memories of building the Hasegawa kit in those markings 30 odd years ago!!
  6. Some do (the F-4E, EJ, F & G as I recall) but others - including the F-4C/D have raised lines but all nice kits with some work!
  7. I build this a year or so & yes it goes together quite nicely but tbh apart from the recessed panel lines, I didn't find it a huge improvement over the old Hasegawa kits! The seats & cockpit are rather poor too.
  8. Xtracolour from Hannants include "Desert Pink". https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/X032?result-token=My7Oy
  9. Hmmmm I'm finding their Mirage IIIRD similarly challenging!
  10. I drove past her many, many, many times. Poor thing but great that someone is taking care of her.
  11. Blimey, must be 0ver 50 years since I built this! In those days it came in a box with frameable box art!!
  12. I used the Flightpath cockpit & if I'm honest it is not a huge improvement over the kit parts. Bit of a waste of effort & not a brilliant fit either!
  13. If I'D been the pilot, I'd have refused to fly that!

    Mis-heard words

My youngest daughter (now 23) vividly recalls that when I played Don Henley's "Down at the Sunset Grill" in the car, he was singing "Down at the SAUSAGE grill"!
  15. The Hunter really was a beautiful piece of aeronautical design.
  16. The Gnat looks like 1/72 even in 1/48!
  17. News to me but Anglia Aircraft Restorations are just waiting a few Centaurus parts before Tempest II MW763 G-TEMT takes to the air at Sywell. I had no idea that a Tempest existed ANYwhere let alone a flying example! https://www.facebook.com/SywellAviationMuseum/
  18. I've used cotton buds in the past - no good for small detail work but fine for larger areas!
  19. Not exactly "backdating" but I WAS going to use the gun bay from an Airfix F8 on my CA F4. I did some jiggling about (before cutting away the panel in the F4 fuselage side!) and decided that with a bit of surgery on the Airfix part it WOULD fit. However I decided that given the thickness of the CA plastic it probably wouldn't look good so abandoned the idea!
