  2. AZmodel Press release Info AZ model May 2013 Our firm, AZmodel, is currently considerably changing as far as the quality of our production is concerned and we would like to inform you about these changes well in advance. You may have noticed that a major step forward in quality of our scale model kits, produced using HQT technology, has been successfully accomplished and the quality of the moulds meets our expectations. Our Spitfire IX and D4Y Judy kits or the latest DH-82A Tiger Moth can all be considered the evidence of our effort. At the same time, we are still producing a number of our kits using the older short-run technology, which has its limitations and unfavourable “vices”. Some problems have recently been also caused by chemical compound modifications of the forming epoxy resin (due to EU regulations) which intensified the shortcomings even more. This considerable difference in injection quality have led us to radical change and to split our production into two separate series (firm brands) according to the production technology used. You frequently ask: “.. and which method has been used for preparation of this kit ? The new one as in case of the Spitfire IX or is it still the old one, the short-run technology?” Therefore, here we introduce the changes: As from 1st May, AZmodel kits will strictly mean the production using the HQT nickel moulds. As a new feature, we will also be starting to utilise three-piece moulds, which enable us to more realistically shape some smaller parts, e.g. engine exhausts, gun barrels etc. This technology has already been introduced to the manufacture of our hot news, the Bell AH-1G/Q and the Kawasaki Ki-61-1Hien, which are due to be released in May. We think you will be delighted by these improvements and we hope to share our pleasure with you. All our older AZmodel short-run kits will be piecemeal sold out in their original boxes. However, in the future these short-run models will be successively re-released and re-boxed under our another well-known label ADMIRAL, together with other new kits. Of course, we will do our best to improve this production method as well. Well, it's simple as one, two, three...
