  1. Just played 'Catch up' with this project. Amazing piece of model engineering, all I can say is well done. Really doesn't describe your skills well enough, I'm just speechless.
  2. Liked this very much, got the sea looking spot on. Your wife must be quite tolerant, not sure mine would appreciate using the washing machine as a work top. :)
  3. Many thanks for the tip, you are right of course the snow would be wet so the car should show that. I've noted your point, thanks again for pointing that out much appreciated. This is a good site for help and tips.
  4. Watch the decals, all mine fell apart some more than others. Only one that couldn't be saved was the figure 8 on the front number plate, just disappeared into so many small pieces.
  5. Great car it was too.Been a Renault fan for some time. Bought myself the MkIV Clio 200T RS in 2013. November last year I picked up the replacement 220Trophy, the extra 20 horses and remap of the gearbox, larger turbo make it that much better than the 200T.
  6. Thanks for the comments. The slicks unfortunately are part of the kit which comes with an electric motor, guess it was to make the car run better if one wanted to use it. Such an old out of production kit I wasn't sure if I could source ones with treads. Added a bit of snow to the surface to try and hide the smooth surface.
  7. That's what I love about this site. One never stops learning, building, painting and weathering from brilliant modellers such as yourself. Great weathering, and brilliant build.
  8. Thought at first you meant on holiday :) Very nice, really good job on that GSX
  9. Now I weathered the car, first time I've added dust and dirt using the air brush, usually use weathering powders. I was happy with this first attempt. Considered the model completed, so feel happier posting in this section Added ice build along the bodywork. First attempt at showing snow spray, cotton wool was used. More use of the cotton wool. Here completed build. Snow spray from the front tyres, same method. Not the best photo due to bad light and reflections. Sitting with some of my other collections.
  10. Plenty of Klear to create ice. Then some bushes added to the snow bank. Then covered with falls of snow.
  11. So continuing:- Bought a 1:24 display case and added a bit of snow using Polyfilla and Citadel artificial snow. Klear was used to create an ice effect. Then the car was test fitted. Here checking the cover will still fit.
  12. Managed to get my hands on this kit via ebay. An old kit but arrived with all the bits in unopened plastic bags. The decals were a real worry, the white had yellowed and when applied they all broke up, lots of patience to coax bits back into position. Not posting up the full build as it was done somewhere else but here are some photos of nearly completed to complete stage. Hope that is OK in this thread. Painting mostly completed and decals applied. Interior completed with a little scratch building, extended the seat belts to the to the rear section. On the kit they are only on the figures.
  13. Looking forward to seeing you cracking on with this build. Excellent work so far.
  14. Just played catch up. Nothing I can add that hasn't already been stated, fantastic build well done. Gives an amateur like me something to aspire to, alas age has got the better of me but I'm sure there are a lot of younger modellers who will see what can be achieved, we just have to keep on, it'll all come together one day. Been one brilliant build to follow, understatement to say I'll miss it when the final chapter is completed.
  15. Cracking build and some great scratch building. It will almost be a shame to see it completed, no more to see, lol.
  16. Rs2man & Draz, wow many thanks, certainly didn't expect a positive response so quickly. Can't thank you enough guys, over the moon and back :) Just shows the power of britmodeller.
  17. I've managed to get my hands on this kit which came out around 1985. Unfortunately the instruction are in Japanese. It's a long shot but I'm wondering if anyone who has built this may remember, or even still has the instructions in English, (told you it was a long shot) what was Tamiya's yellow used for the body. Can't find any build from the recent or distant past on here. Thanks in advance to any replies.
  18. Without repeating everyone else I'm stuck for words. Use Swahili instead, it's Mzuri Sana. Would love to see this in the flesh.
  19. Fantastic job hendie, certainly gives those of us with a lower skill level to aspire to.
  20. Also looking forward to seeing further progress, coming on nicely. Mancunian airman, ther are plenty Lancaster builds, hope Scott doesn't mind me pointing you to my subject. Not the best build by a long shot but hopefully give you one out of loads of subjects. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234969633-help-with-lancaster-decals/?hl=%2Blancaster+%2Bdecals
