  1. This kit looks really promising. Two years ago I built a specific H-version Jackpine Joe (SN 42-52466). At that time, the Hasegawa J version kit was the best kit on the market and hard to get. Hasegawa had both nose turrets (Emerson and Sperry) in their kit and a Czech modeller offered a Vacform part for the Ford nose. This was all a bit tricky to build and it's also true that the front part of the fuselage wasn't reproduced quite correctly. This looks much better in the Airfix test shots. With this new Airfix H-version, all of this is no longer necessary. But I'll wait until there's at least masking tape for this kit available, because masking the turrets is a time-consuming job. Btw, this is my model of Jackpine Joe:
  2. There is a decal set available from Draw Decal with this aircraft: https://www.drawdecal.com/princess-elizabeth-p-51c-released/ It is available in various scales and it's still available.
  3. @tonyot: what about the decals? As I can see you have the "6C" on the engine cowling, but have also the serial number of that aircraft? Next question: did you use a decal set or have you printed the decals yourself? I am starting on a new theme "operation Tungsten" where I'd like to build a Wildcat too (beside a Barracuda and a Corsair). So far I have learned that the Wildcats at that particular time are Mk V (not Mk VI) and they were from NAS 800, 881 and 882 Sq based on the support carriers Searcher, Pursuer, Fencer and Emperor. The Airfix kit comes very close the Mk V version and maybe the new Armahobby F4F-4 (= FM-1) too. But then I need some information about serial numbers and markings. Btw: operation Tungsten took place at 3rd April 1944
  4. In one of their previously newsletters ArmaHobby mentioned that there are a few delays due to the current pandemic. And in the latest newsletter from 13. August there is a footnote:
  5. hi kolibri282, have you got any informations regarding your missing piece (steam generator)? I am thinking of doing this object too but I couldn't find any usable data about it. In my case I bought the Modelcollect V1 kit. Unfortunately there is no steam generator within the kit and no electrical equipment. Maybe someone knows about books or any other places where I can find drawings of these objects?
  6. This sounds really good (having a P-51B from Arma Hobby); regarding the decals I am interested in the 306 fighter wing as part of the 15th AF. This fighter groups were all stationed in Italy (31st, 52nd, 325th, 332rd) and all of them were flying Mustangs. I will start drawing my own decals for a particular P-51B that crash-landed on 22. February 1945 in Switzerland. It's named Little Ambassador, SN 43-24853. This is a picture how she is looking:
  7. great, excellent job. I have just finished my model of a civil operator Rotex AG (Switzerland) now. Unfortunately I found your tips a little bit to late. But anyway at least one of my rotorblades has a buck that I assume can not be fixed with your Lego-mechanism. I consider building them from scratch now. Here is my K-Max: There are some more pictures of the model on https://flic.kr/s/aHskdCT8Bn cheers Ueli
  8. thanks Ben, I didn't know of such a dinghy from CMK, Hannants for example only listed one in 1/48 but that one in 1/72 is what I am looking for. Btw can you give a way the secret of doing the water in your diorama? -ueli
  9. hello wellsprop, I've got an old Matchbox kit of this aircraft too and I will try to build a similar scene. My question is: where did you get the dinghy from? There is a figure set from Revell (RAF commands) which has a dinghy included but that on seems to big. Either I have build one from scratch or there is a better source like yours. -ueli
