Very colourful Fokker! Where have I missed the build of the Black Widow? V-P

That's just fabulous . V-P

Great to have the Bolo in the GB too! That was the airplane the USAAC chose instead of the B-17 to build their strategic bomber force... but later realized it was not a very wise decision . V-P

I hope my build will turn out even half as good as yours, Tim! V-PÂ

Take your time, this group build has still three full months to go 😊

Great vac kit, and even greater build of it
-
Thanks! Rushing the builds a little means there's some extra cleaning I need to do now, but that's my own fault.Â
Â
I decided to have closed leading edge slats on both planes; one has drooped elevators but closed radiators (U4) and the other has straight elevators, open radiators and drop tanks (U2). V-P

So glad to see this Classic entered in the Twins GB, Dave! The late '70-s saw a pre-teenage V-P building this kit too. Memories!

And it's still missing from the "what we build"- list!

I know the rumours of the triple blue Bristols at Malta. So far I'd be happy with the Temperate Sea Scheme over Azure Blue!

Reading all that, I'm sure I could add both one Beaufort and one Beaufighter to the list of builds. Just because that's What E.M. Would Do
Â
But I will not. That'd screw my own count of what's going on. I will add the 'fighter when you start your build thread for it
Â
...And I'm long overdue building a Beaufort myself. As a kid, I got a fantastic (at least back then) book about WW2 aircraft. It mentioned the Beaufort, and how they devastated Rommel's supply lines flying from Malta. Yet it lacked a pic of one, and the (then) mysterious torpedo bomber has intrigued me ever since. V-P

I have a trio (vic?) of Airfix P-51D:s for this one. One will be decorated in a kit supplied scheme, but for two of them I'm planning to add some home printed decals. V-P
EDIT:
One, I hope, will be my attempt to create a model of Bert Stiles's last mount, that'll be my Serenade to the Big Bert

With which I of course refer to his unforgettable legacy to the mankind:

I have tried to find cockpit pictures of the Me 410 to find out, what the part D13 actually tries to depict? I assume it's something that rotates, so probably part of the radio direction finder system... or then not. Whatever it is, Airfix instructions suggest painting it with Humbrol 62 Matt Leather. That doesn't sound very electric. Before I paint mine with Hu 62, I'd like to at least know what it should represent.
Oh and if you don't know the kit, the instructions have it in Step 5. V-P

I think the official cut-off year is 1935. Is that early enough?

Welcome, this is (finally!) the first Ju 188 in this group build 😊. V-P
