  1. Been quite a while since I've updated this thread. Here's the state of play so far: Just got the fiddly bits to assemble now - undercarriage etc, then I can apply some further weathering and a matt coat. Thanks for looking Matt
  2. I've just bought the 1/72 version of this kit. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
  3. Fantastic progress and a really interesting pre-shade technique! Looking forward to more...
  4. Those exhausts are something else! Care to share your secret?!
  5. Really nice work on the underside. Preshading looks really good too - looking forward to the camo now!
  6. Thanks for the comments Mark, ironically the canopy fits in the open position [with a little persuasion] but as far as I'm aware, the canopy is designed to be closed on this model [i may be wrong]. Mine doesn't fit closed at all. Now I quite possibly may have slightly misaligned the front part of the canopy but even so the fit of the rear piece is quite far out. Nice model BTW
  7. Since finishing my Hellcat, I've not done much modelling. Been having work done in the house so my modelling room has turned into a store room. I cleared some space the other day and made a start on this little gem from Tamiya. Great kit, with a brilliant cockpit, the only issue I've had is I cannot get the canopy to fit. Built totally OOB, I've also used the supplied decals for seat belts and instrument panel. Painting is underway using Xtracrylics, to be finished in the 'Sleepy Time Gal' scheme. Thanks for looking Matt
  8. Excellent progress and superb painting. Looking forward to more!
  9. Fantastic progress, excellent paint job too. What brand of paint are you using?
  10. Very, very nice. I like how faded the blue looks.
  11. Excellent build! I'm currently working on Tamiya's 1:72 version of the Razorback - hope it turns out half as good as this!
  12. Thanks for the comments! The antenna wire is EZ Line, never used it before but I can recommend it
  13. Thank you for the positive comments - they are much appreciated!
  14. Thank you very much for the comments. Just noticed the misaligned wheel in the photos...grrr
  15. Hello, Finally finished my Eduard Hellcat. Built totally out of the box with the exception of new gun barrels [drilled plastic rod] and brake lines. Painted and weathered using Tamiya acrylics mixed by eye. I have achieved a first with this model - an aerial wire! Hope you like the pics and any comments are welcome! Thanks for looking Matt
  16. Thanks again for the positive comments!
  17. There was an article in Tamiya Magazine in 2005 with the 1/32 Hasegawa Frank and it inspired me to buy the 1/48 equivalent. I assembled and painted the majority of the kit then lost interest, stopped modelling completely and dumped it in the back of a cupboard. I recently found the part assembled kit, it had sustained some damage and a thick layer of dust. After cleaning it up, I've decided to try and finish it off. Everything you see here was done in 2005. All I've done is sprayed a coat of Klear in preparation for some washes and further weathering. The main undercarriage isn't in the box with the rest of the bits so whether or not I finish it will hinge on locating these bits. Thanks for looking Matt
