  1. Just to clarify a couple of things it seems people didn't understand the nuance of my last post. The buyer has paid for the item it is posted quickly, it is EBAY not the buyer or seller who are delaying the input of the payment in peoples bank accounts. It is clearly a policy of theirs not to pay immeadiately for whatever reason. the delay has been usually between 3 and in two cases 6 days before being sent to the seller account. I agree the safety net with paypal has gone and judging by the complete lack of transparency from Ebay it may well be as ye are suggesting a information trawl etc, something I also believe myself. I urged caution but My partner felt she had no choice but to give the account details in order to sell small items on the site and I believe very shortly it will apply to all sellers making it uneconomic for individuals in a small way to sell and perhaps that's the idea. Why change a winning formula the move away from paypal makes no sense. She's still waiting a response from eBay today but could be waiting a long time as they use autobots apparently. I have no recommendations either way to make just letting you know our experience since the changeover. regards Eamonn
  2. Jut an FYI Since Tess handed over her bank account details and despite the ebay bumpf about money going into your account within two days of sales/orders! this has not been her experience on any item sold since she signed up. She prides herself on very quick postage usually within 24 hours and ebay transfers have been between 3-6days after postage not sales/orders. It could be teething issues but if it continues it may lead to people going elsewere to sell. The money when transferred usually clears quickly into the account minus the fees but the delay in payment is noticeable compared to the old paypal system. The new TAX invoice arrived this morning along with another April invoice. Eamonn

  4. Hi all' Just a little heads up regarding the changes and some observations of ebay recently. My better half often sold unwanted items from my stash on ebay until this week. She was informed that the rules regarding payment were changng to direct bank account only on the 30/04/2021 repeated emails and messages were received until she gave permission for the bay to have direct access to her bank account. Streamline payments improve seller experiences making things easier etc. If your thinking of changing I would suggest in light of Theresa's experience you think very long and hard as to whether it's worth it. She now has a situation were after items are sold payment is withheld for up to four days after posting, before being sent to her bank account, despite repeated requests to talk to someone from ebay she has been ignored. The paypal system worked but ebay have now made the seller experience much worse their fees have increased dramatically and you now get a monthly TAX invoice which she has recieved no information about!! is this a government requirement or ebay's she's not sure but it came right out of the blue. Despite repeated attempts to talk to someone from ebay she has been unable to get any information from them. Apart from that Since the turn of the year she has had casual misogny particularly from a couple of bidders and one seller , Some of the personal remarks have been unacceptable but ebay never replied to any complaints. On top of A number of claims of items slightly damaged in post (particularly Gemini jets despite photographic proof of 100% intact items) that look suspiciously similar (nice to get a free model and full refund,if you can ) one return clearly wasn't the item sold but ebay have insisted she give full refunds in each case amid threats to feedback scores. even though the photos prove no damage as she always took pics before wrapping, (they can contact you quick enough about this strangely though !!!!) something most sellers never think about because you expect people to be honest! It's becoming untenable to sell there but there are few alternatives It's becoming a real mess on their site but it's to both our minds only going to get worse. All I can say is in light of our experience think long and hard about signing up regards Eamonn
  5. Outstanding pics as always Shaun nice to see a show after all this time thanks for sharing Eamonn
  6. Hi Chris & Mark Thanks for the replies I had used copious amounts of Micro but the decals folded up on themselves and no matter how much fettling I tried they wouldn't stick. My fat fingers dont help the 8 inch individual letter numbers are a nightmare I could really bith about hannants not including RA444 on their 1/72nd sheet but I'd be howling in the wind. Have to buy another sheet and hope for the best I guess or try some other way to get them onto the airframe. Gutted to Hear Mel Bromley passed on too very sad news I got this kit from him along with a lot more besides. Eamonn

  9. Echo your message Andy, Mel was an absolute gentleman very funny and a real credit to our hobby. Says a lot about the man that my missus is upset at the news too as over the past number of years he had become a friend to both of us. My stash has quite a lot of his kits decals in it & it's very sad news to hear he's passed on. We had both looked forward to seeing him shortly with lockdown lifted. May he rest in peace Eamonn
  10. Good Morning Gents A little update on this she as slowly taken shape but I'm having trouble getting the Hannants decals for the smaller reg to settle on the airframe even with using Micro Sol/set!!! anyone any work around's to help me and my fat fingers? If I can't finish her I may park her on the shelf of doom and start a new project which might be a little easier to do. ( I hope) 😉 and come back when I'm more confident. My partner is on the mend the past month has been full of stress but she is making some progress thankfully and really appreciated all your kind messages we both can't thank you enough Stay safe everyone regards Eamonn
  11. If true it's a damaging set of events for all concerned. Flying around for 20 minutes with a damaged engine isn't the best of ideas at any time let alone during an airshow. The FAA report will make for interesting reading and may have repercussions for the whole flying museums & airshow circuit in the states. thanks for posting Eamonn
