  1. Wow-that's a great looking model.Very nice paint job, particularly the underside. Think I may have to get one of these. Thanks for posting.
  2. Crikey! What an achievement-an absolute masterpiece.
  3. Sweet! Is that the ollllldd airfix kit that I remember from Woolworths days?
  4. You really managed to get a sense of realism with your painting. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Lovely finish on that. For some reason looking at it takes me right back to being a nipper...(I think a friend spent a long time messing one up.) That tail trolley really sets it off too.Great stuff!
  6. Thanks Richard. Beautiful Spitfire btw.. really clean spotless finish, something I need to work on.I just noticed also, photobucket free account dramatically lowers the picture quality...tinypic is the way to go so I reposted most of the shots (doesn't help my messy brush strokes though!) cheers, Dave
  7. Fantastic! very impressive photography too...
  8. Super Spit. Very nice clean n crisp finish you've achieved.
  9. Thanks very much for the kind words guys. Toby, you are right about the saddle bags-what were they thinking?(or not) that was one of my biggest gripes with this kit...such a distinctive feature,so badly done. That and the canopy framing-completely wrong on both options.I tried to fake the framing(windscreen heavier than the hood)but was beaten by the thickness-about 4scale inches thick! visible through side main windows..I think Airfix missed a chance with this kit. Richard, the model was painted with a combo of airbrush and manual brush..you are correct, that is some paint on the u/c door...looking at the pics I notice a few other things I hadn't seen-yikes! Overall I'm happy with this build though, and I'm on to Trumpeter's 1/32 version, they seem to have got the canopy right-and those fascinating bulges on the front of the gal..
  10. Just the links!.. can anyone tell me how to make the pics appear on the post? Cheers, Dave.
  11. Hello, This is my first post on BM,and first just about everything else as well.Out of the 8 models I've started 3 didn't make it,and this is the first one I've actually "Finished" ( This is my first try at photography as well, so apologies in advance for any wierdness with the images..) I was a bit disappointed with this kit initially,it's easy to put together, but I found it hard to make it look decent( the nose, the canopy, and the one peice undercariage moldings...) In the end I came to be quite fond of it though-I learned a lot and had fun making it. The spinner was hand painted in the field by the ground crew-just as the russians were attacking Any suggestions, criticisms most welcome. Thanks for watching.
