  1. I was going to ask Special Hobby at Telford about this but completely forgot. Ended up walking away with one of their 1:32 Tempests so not all bad.
  2. Hi Guys For all those interested the Starlifter build is carrying on HERE... IMAG4097 by Mark Inman, on Flickr Final RFI Vulcan pictures hopefully being taken this week... Thanks for stopping by...
  3. Hi guys Here is the continued build of my Roden Starlifter. I was building this on the side as I slaved through an Airfix Vulcan recently. But since the Vulcan was finished last week I have decided to give the Starlifter it's own thread. The Vulcan with a Starlifter on the side thread is where you will find everything on this build up until it's primer coat. This morning while I had an hour before work I started spraying Tamiya XF-20 which is supposed to be a good match for FS16473. I'm not 100% convinced an I feel it should be a touch darker but we will see. IMAG4097 by Mark Inman, on Flickr IMAG4098 by Mark Inman, on Flickr Keep in mind these pictures are taken with no natural light and is under my hobby lamp. Here is what the real steel looks like... I have since rubbed down the grey with a cotton cloth and is silky smooth. I will hopefully finish the grey over the next few day...
  4. The picture on Lucky model is a C-141B. It's still a million times cheaper than their C-5.
  5. How are the STGB dates looking at the moment? My 2018 is looking quite busy so far. If it's late 2018 or 2019 then put me down.
  6. Good job. I quite fancy doing one of these one day. We don't see enough built.
  7. Hi Guys Firstly Telford was fruitful. IMAG4073 by Mark Inman, on Flickr Secondly, The Vulcan is finally finished.... IMAG4076 by Mark Inman, on Flickr IMAG4077 by Mark Inman, on Flickr RFI pics will be up when I get round to taking proper photographs. Hopefully in the next week or so... Thanks to everyone who has stuck around throughout the build. I will create a thread in the KUTA X GB area for the Starlifter. Apart from the Starlifter which I will now carry on with I have started the Meng 1:32 Me163 Komet. WIP up soon...........
  8. I picked up some metal tracks for my M-48 yesterday at Telford. Just a few more bits to collect and I'll be ready.
  9. Welcome to the forum. I was in Vancouver back in September. It's a beautiful place.
  10. Thank you. The hours of scribing were worth it in the end. I have also so enjoyed doing the camouflage on this that I can't wait to do another camouflage build.
  11. Poor light picture but she is on her legs now.. IMAG4036 by Mark Inman, on Flickr
  12. Thank you. I'm hoping to have better pictures up in the RFI next week.
  13. Hi Ben. Cheers mate. It's my first time going to Telford. I'll try not to go too mad. I'll send you a pm soon as its been ages. Hope you and the family are well.
  14. Hi guys. This build is back on the bench after getting sidetracked with other things. I have given the wheel hubs a dirt wash and painted the metallic parts on the undercarriage compression parts. With so few things still to do on this the end is well in sight. Looking forward to finishing her. Watching this space..
  15. I need to pick up some dio bits like grass, leaves and vines at Telford. If I do pick some up I'll put a bit on here.
  16. Thanks Richard. It will be on the West Middlesex Club Stand. Just lookout for an elevated train and what I can only describe as a sci fi Christmas tree. Cheers Tony. I love working with oils but it is definitely an area I'm still learning. Unfortunately I'm just going to have to build more kits to practice on.
  17. Calling this one done... IMAG4005 by Mark Inman, on Flickr IMAG3999 by Mark Inman, on Flickr IMAG4003 by Mark Inman, on Flickr IMAG4004 by Mark Inman, on Flickr The last thing that needs doing is painting the ammunition rounds that are supplied in the kit. I don't have any brass paint currently so this will happen at a later date. IMAG4006 by Mark Inman, on Flickr RFI and better pictures will probably be after Telford. Watch this space.
  18. I had thought about a touch of grass but as these were on the roof of an active flak tower I doubt much moss would accumulate. I have just put a brown wash in the cracks. I'll probably give it a rainbow oil dot wash.
  19. Hi guys Here is the concrete base painted using the black basing marbling technique. I used to marble: MRP-112 Medium Sea Grey MRP-40 Dark Grey Tamiya XF-20 Medium Grey Tamiya XF-55 Deck Tan The final blend coat was a highly thinned mix of XF-20. All sealed in with a semi gloss clear coat. IMAG3984 by Mark Inman, on Flickr
