  1. Those two kits look weird,.....The AT-ST's feet look small & legs look long,....I know they've painted it up like its from he Battle of Hoth,...but the Hoth AT-ST had a different shaped head for a start....the Snowspeeder's slope in front of the cockpit is too long J
  2. The 5 footer has been described as 'The Bible' by The VFX guy from TFA Dave Fogler,.....they used the 5 footer as the base for the digital Falcon The 32" Falcon is retired J
  3. You are tearing through this,....brilliant work so far J
  4. Hey Everybody This is my SpeederBike & Scout Trooper,...I filled in all joints on him,.....Shoulders, elbows,....erm....bum....knees & elbows,....I also gave him a throat Made my own base out of Foamalux An earlier shot of the bike before I added tweaks to the saddlebag: Thanks for looking John
  5. Well,....lots of parts,....making babies.....other models,....work......finally getting back to it Thanks very much noeye J
  6. Hi People This is where I am with my FineMolds Millennium Falcon 1/72......It's been a long build.....7 or 8 years,...but finally we have paint Thanks for looking John
  7. Thanks RP&C Thanks Bob,...I like the look of the Sandtroopers as seen in the original Star Wars.....the added Sandtroopers in the 1997 SE version are weathered differently John
  8. Thanks Bob,.....no with me,...bits cracked and just fell off Thanks Hunter Rose,....when the bits fall off,....you just need to glue them back on & fill the joins,....but it is pretty scary to see it fall apart before your eyes Thank you Housesparrow,....I think sometimes its hard not to overdo it Thanks batcode Thanks Will I did mods on the legs to allow more stance,...once I was satisfied I glued it to that decided stance 1st mod: I cut away the heel tendon that locked the leg into that position & inserted a wee wheel: To make the feet swivel I inserted a rod & socket into the feet: & to get the legs to toe in.....(feet closer together) I found images of the Go-motion puppet: & with help from Julien (Monsieur Tox) from Replica Prop Forum,...who has made a Studio Scale model of the AT-ST using all original parts shared with me an image of the legs of his build: Which lead me to this: Thank very much,....great compliment Thank you Zarichta Thanks for looking John
  9. Thanks very much Hunter,....I have to get back to it & finish that base.....I have done the decals,....so hopefully some photos soon J
  10. Oh...lovely painting...& lighting ....& the base makes it 100% stand-out original J
  11. Julien from The Replica Prop Forum....posted this:
  12. This kit has been boxed up & shelved since May.....but I really should get back to it The Bandai R2-D2 is a lovely kit let down by his head,....theres a big join that runs down the middle of it & the metallic plastic is very toy like,.....so my aim is to build up the head differently to the instructions,....to light the various sections & make him LESS toylike; Head assembled to allow the blue sections to be attached later, The seam filled & sanded then primed: Then painted with aluminium,.....then airbrushed with Mr Colour buff-able aluminium, the blue parts were sprayed with Citroen Poseidon Blue,.....the net found that some R2 builders recommended that colour I want to light some of the panels on R2's head so I moulded & cast some of the parts: The R5 body, ..panel lines drawn in with fine sharpy,...then sprayed with white primer Thanks for looking John
  13. This was a quick build,....everything was painted (apart from the 'sand' base I used Hycote car primer Matt White & Black,.....all primed areas were buffed back up to a worn shine using a scouring pad All weathering is with oils (being extremely careful with the Bandai plastic) Compared to the 'Death Star' Stormtrooper: Thanks very much for looking John
  14. Some more of my progress: Stripped down the piping & re-positioned the entex engine a bit: Thanks for looking John
  15. This model is almost finished,....just the base to do & final photos to be taken: I primed the figures with white,...then masked the areas I wanted to keep white with liquid latex with a drop of Vallejo colour: So....decals,...base & photos,....& that should be Wedge & Wes done Thanks for looking John
  16. Hey there guys this is another Bandai Falcon I'm working on,....just taking a wee break to work on other Falcon projects,...at the minute I still have the side-walls to do.....but this is how I got to where I am: Some small thinning of pipes & greeblies: The detailed area that runs along the top of cockpit walkway looks a bit too high: Carving out the area from the inside to minimise the damage of details on the outside: Re-positioned lower in the walkway: Blast marks: Carving out the framework for the new rectangular radar: Underside blast marks: As TFA Falcon is a CG model for the movie,...it now has glass in the window frames....(the models used in the original trilogy were frames only to help with blue screen filming),...so I've gone with the window option: Masking: Sorry that it's such a long post,...but thats it brought up to where I am with the model Thanks for looking John
  17. Hey there fellows,...this was a fun build I put together last year,....great model...(I did have some problems with the thinners attacking the plastic though,....but all issues were resolved) I did some modifications to the legs to give it a bit more accuracy to the gait of the stop-motion (or go-motion) models Thanks very much for looking John
  18. Hi guys I've been a member for a while but this is my first post here,....My name is John & I'm from Carrickfergus (10 miles from Belfast) You might get to notice that I tend to build 1 craft......in different scales.....different versions...... ....the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars I've built various MPC kits (the one from '78),....the most recent I spent quite a long time on & sold it to a collector about 95% completed I've got 2 FineMolds 1/72 & 1 of the 1/144 I'm in the middle of modding the big Hasbro toy Falcon (works out to be 1/48) & two of these fantastic Bandai 1/144 The Force Awakens Falcon kits So....this thread is dedicated to the Bandai kit modded to reproduce how the Falcon appeared in the first Star Wars 1977 (A New Hope) I got my Shapeways parts today (27 Nov) sculpted by Tony FZ6 & I started modding Dish: Really Really happy with the detail on the printed parts: Started plating: Constantly smoothing & refining Thanks for looking John Wow, thanks for the welcome Dermo (& the likes guys).....Yep theres a lot of these birds being built at the minute Theres a good bit to catch up to where I am now with this build (paint & PE),....but this was the next in my progress: TFA docking rings are a bit plain,....while the 5 footer is more random Gonna have to find some really fine greeblies for the cockpit walkway: Thanks for looking John
  19. Hi guys I've been a member for a while but this is my first post here,....My name is John & I'm from Carrickfergus (10 miles from Belfast) You might get to notice that I tend to build 1 craft......in different scales.....different versions...... ....the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars There were a few Studio models made for the films,....but the main two were the 5 foot model & the smaller 32" one, heres a quick guide on how to spot differences between the different models OK......The Differences of the 5 footer Star Wars version (or A New Hope) to the same model modified for Empire Strikes Back.....the additional Landing gear boxes: ...and a broken Quad gun after ESB: Now for the differences of the 5 footer & the 32" Front on.....differences in the Mandible ends: Next the boxes on the mandibles / hull The Cockpit: The Starboard Mandible: The Dish: The Quad Turret; .....and the back end, the spacing of the vertical Fuel drive pressure stabiliser things: Thats it for tonight,.....there are obviously TONNES of differences,......But at a glance, you should be able to pick out which version you are looking at from any angle Hope this is a help John
