  1. There is a fairing at the rear end (the dark bit in Spikes pic) that is removed when the plumbers load/unload the rockets. you are then faced with a plate with 18 tubes, each tube has a small conector for the firing link (electrical connector from pod to rocket) Like Spike, its been a long time since I had me mitts on one. I do remember that the fairing on the front end that the rockets were fired through, was called the "heat shield", mainly for HE rockets, but used most if not all the time with practice rockets when I served at RAF Brawdy in the early eighties. 2. Might I suggest you visit the Museum at Newark. The machine there is very accessable, and if you ask then nicley, they might let you in the cockpit (will need to be a week day though). I asked once about the having a shufty in the Gannet cockpit and they were more than helpful. Cheers Andy
  3. I have attempted to use the Heritage F/A-2 conversion in the past. None of the parts fitted the Airfix kit at all. I know that when you carry out conversions on kits that the AM stuff may not fit exactly, but the Heritage stuff was no where near, especially the rear fuselage plug. If you look at their seats for instance, the seat has a slight taper from the pan to the headbox. That is totally wrong. The seat pan from the front is square. You are better off detailing the kits seat. The only HA stuff I would ever consider using are the 1/24 Harrier wheels. Cheers Andy
  4. Hey, JTY thats a very nice tin triangle you got there. I plan to mine as 607....got my inspiration from the book "Vulcan 607", bloody good read. I will do mine as it appeared during the little tiff we had with the Argies. Cheers Andy

    Low Jag

Hi Neil, The picture you show of the "fence" embedded in the wing tip was infact part of a guard rail from a weapons range watch tower !! Whilst I was on Jags in Oman, the story I heard was the pilots wife was at the range watching hubby drop some weaponary. He decided to show off his flying skills and did a low level flyby of the watch tower......and the rest as they say is history !! Cheers Andy
